Thursday I visited a really neat bookstore, the Chamblin Bookmine, in Jacksonville and saw a special IMAX re-release of a beloved animé classic (you can read more about that on my art FB)! Yesterday wrapped with Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St.Augustine and the drive home. I saw a former parishoner of OLG on the way back! She and her husband now live in Pensacola.

Amazing — brief — trip! ☀️⛵️🌊

BPS has some really interesting things to say on the trial. I’ll link it below, but here are two quotes directly from the video to get you interested:

“You cannot simultaneously argue that women are fully autonomous adults deserving unlimited agency and then infantilize women whenever that agency produces consequences you find uncomfortable.”

William Meijer argues that migrants tend to make destination countries more like the ones they left—because biology, psychology, and culture shape institutions *more* than institutions reshape people. 📊

The interesting part is the data: persistence in trust, patience, civic honesty, saving behavior, and institutional quality across generations. He notes that ancestry itself doesn’t equate to destiny; the traits that support large-scale cooperation are what matter.

This is worth spending real time with. 🙏🏻 It is a cultural dialogue we’re actively suppressing.

Yesterday we went to the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum. Today, Glenn and I visited the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument and drove around some more. I was surprised with a birthday cake🎂 at the day’s end, as well as a visit from Sarah and her family. I celebrated her and Brandon’s wedding a decade ago, at Nativity Cathedral in Biloxi!! How cool to see them again! 🤗 God is good! 🕊️ 💕

In the Muslim-dominated areas of Nigeria, Christians do NOT have rights. He has helped bury bodies from a wedding massacre—children and women “roasted like animals.” Accurate reporting on it was treated as a crime.

Religious liberty is the right to worship without fear, and the duty to refuse a legal order that punishes conversion, blasphemy, or the Gospel. Pray for Nigeria’s martyrs!
