This vivid text describes the total, decisive defeat of Gog—every weapon disarmed, every scheme undone, with nothing left to chance or to the enemy's own strength.

Ezekiel 39 concludes the prophecy against Gog with an image of complete disarmament and cleansing—weapons burned for seven years, the land purified for seven months, and finally, a promise that eclipses even that total victory: "I will not hide my face anymore from them, when I pour out my Spirit upon the house of Israel" (v. 29).
