13 OCT: Poland: Holiday camps for Ukrainian refugee children • The Lutheran World Federation

In the tranquil settings of the Polish countryside, 177 Ukrainian child refugees found a brief sanctuary and a break from the war. Organized by the Lutheran World Federation, these holiday camps not only offered fun-filled activities but also a sense of normalcy against a backdrop of conflict and displacement.

SUN, 29 OCT, 1-4 PM: Annual CROP Walk

The annual CROP Hunger Walk is a coming together of several faith organizations to bring attention to world hunger, both globally and locally.

This outdoor event includes a walk of varying distances that give members of different congregations a chance to meet and talk with each other.

The starting point for the 11th Annual Mid-Peninsula CROP Hunger Walk will be at St. Raymond Parish in Menlo Park (1100 Santa Cruz Ave.).

You can join the walk from 1-4 PM on Sunday, October 29, which is the Sunday following our annual congregational meeting.

The CROP Walk was organized in 1969 by Church World Service (CWS), a multi-faith, international, non-profit organization.

The CWS seeks sustainable solutions to hunger, poverty, displacement, and disaster.

Locally, 25 percent of the funds raised from the Mid-Peninsula walk will go to the EHP - Ecumenical Hunger Program located in East Palo Alto.

If you would like to make a contribution, Bruce Christenson will have an envelope at refreshments following the services in October which you can leave your donation.

Checks can be made out to: CROP Walk/ CWS

If you would like to participate in the walk on the Sunday, October 29 or have questions about the event, please e-mail Bruce.

Connect with others in your area and raise funds to fight hunger in the United States and around the world.
