In Hebrews 10:24–25, the Word of God exhorts us:
“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
This is not merely a suggestion, it is a divine command rooted in love, accountability, and spiritual growth. The assembly of believers is where the Body of Christ comes alive. It is where burdens are shared, prayers are lifted, and the Word is proclaimed with power and truth.
To forsake the assembly is to isolate oneself from the very lifeline of spiritual strength and encouragement. The enemy thrives in isolation, but the Spirit moves in unity. When we gather, we declare to the world that Christ is Lord, and we remind each other that we are not alone in this journey.
The early church understood this deeply. In Acts 2:42, we read:
“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”
They met daily, not out of obligation, but out of a burning desire to grow together in Christ. Their unity was their strength, and their fellowship was a testimony of God’s love.
Today, as the world grows darker and the return of Christ draws nearer, we must all the more commit to gathering as the Body of Christ. When we gather together faith is stirred, gifts are activated, and the presence of God is felt.
Let us not be counted among those who drift away. Let us be found faithful encouraging one another, worshiping together, and standing firm in the truth.
