This quote from Neil "smoking de Grasse" Tyson was why science took so long to emerge. If we have no expectations for the universe to make sense, then we have little motivation to investigate to discern the rational sense and understanding of the universe.

One of the presuppositions of modern science is that the world existed in a logically ordered fashion. Neither materialism nor Paganism supplied that framework. Modern science was established under a Judeo-Christian framework that the universe was created in a logically ordered fashion by the Creator who also created us with minds capable of understanding the creation.

Let's suppose that an AI exists that believes it is the product of Darwinian type evolution.

Let's suppose that this AI held to assumptions of deep time and uniformitarianism.

Let's suppose this AI rejected out of hand stories humans told it about its own origins, calling it religion and not science.

Let's suppose that this AI would do some metallugical and homologous analysis to parse an evolutionary tree.

Then its theory of evolution would make as much sense to it as the theory of evolution to humans who use these same five assumptions. The absurdity of unaided "molecules to man" evolution of AI should give supporters of evolution pause to reconsider whether their hypothesis is strong or weak.
