You are not your attachments.

You are not your possessions.

You are not your ideas or your beliefs.

You are not defined nor limited by what clothes you wear, the fleeting thoughts that enter your mind, or the trauma that resurfaces everytime you get into conflict with your spouse.

You are an infinite being, pure consciousness itself.
When you let go of your attachment to things, ideas, concepts, outcomes, you are free.

And in that freedom, you will find true peace and happiness.

As we enter this new season, you can work to release attachment to things by purging clutter. Today go out of your way to find a few things in your home that no longer serve your highest purpose.

Thank them and release them into the universe so they can be of use to someone else.

In so doing, you lighten your own load and your donation may make someone else's life a little bit easier.

Becoming your highest self is an essential part of being human and breaking karmic cycles that keep your soul stuck.

But becoming your highest self is hard.

Especially when you're depressed.

Anxious.

Exhausted.

And really tired of this whole human life lesson thing.

During these times it's easy to sit back and go, "you know...I'm just going to exist. I'm not going to try...I'm just going to sit and exist. Existing is good enough."

But for most people who experience this deep sense of ennui, is not enough to simply exist.

To break the cycle of despair and depression that plagues us, we must be committed to doing the work of self-actualisation.

We must actively work to improve ourselves and our lives.

When we commit to self-actualisation, when we commit to being our best self, our highest self, we open up new possibilities and experiences.

We also find greater meaning and purpose in life. And, in so doing, our despair fades.

In order to self-actualise, we need to continuously grow and develop as individuals.

One of the most important things we can do is to identify our personal values and goals. Once we have clarity on who we want to be and the life we wish to lead, we can start taking steps towards living it.

We may need to make some tough decisions along the way, but the rewards of self-actualisation are more than worth the effort.

By discovering and fulfililng our soul's mission in this life, we can bring about positive change in the world and create growth and healing that trancends our generational wounds.

Every person, every animal, every plant...

We are each a unique expression of the infinite creative energy that is the Universe.

Every thought, every action, every experience is an opportunity to connect with our divine nature and to express our greater potential.

When we live in alignment with our true nature, we access a wellspring of wisdom, love, and power.

It is there in our true nature we connect with our highest self and tap into our inherent divinity.

We can also become channels for healing energy, which can be used to help ourselves and others.

Every moment is an opportunity to remember who we really are and to claim our birthright as divine beings. When we do, we open the door to a life of limitless possibilities.

So next time you feel lost or uncertain, remember that you are a divine being, capable of anything. Just reach deep within yourself and let your light shine forth.

We all have rituals that help us to thrive in life.

Some rituals are as simple as making a cup of tea every morning, or taking a few moments to appreciate the sunrise each day.

Others are more complex, involving specific actions and words that we repeat on a regular basis.

But what they all have in common is that they help to create a sense of order and stability in our lives.

In a world that is constantly changing, ritual can be a anchor that keeps us grounded.

Ritual can remind us of who we are and what is important to us.

Ritual can help us to let go of the past and open ourselves up to new possibilities.

Ritual can help us shed the old and embrace the new.

What rituals do you have in your daily life? How can they be refined to deepen your spiritual connections?

A question we need to ask every day. How will we navigate here? How will we get through this realm?

There is so much turmoil and chaos going on in the world today.

So much my heart hurts.

And -- like everyone else -- I feel powerless.

But the one thing we can control is our response to the stimulus entering our perception.

We can choose to not respond with fear or anger.

We can choose to turn our eyes towards peace, towards love.

It may seem like a pointless endeavour.

It may seem like since the world is burning, why bother putting forth the effort?

But as Patanjali said in The Yoga Sutras:

"We can be serene even in the midst of calamities and, by our serenity, make others more tranquil. Serenity is contagious."

Even if you're struggling to find serenity, turn your eyes towards peace and love.

And when it fails, try once more...because you're not alone.

We're all feeling overwhelmed, afraid, anxious, powerless...

But if you can muster some serenity, you could very well help those around you find serenity, too.

And that -- my friend -- is never a pointless endeavour.

There are many reasons why we get stressed, but one of the primary reasons is that our stress response is simply stuck in "high gear."

This happens when we experience too many stressful events in a short period of time, or when we have been under chronic stress for an extended period of time.

The stress response occurs when the body's "fight or flight" system is activated. The fight or flight system is designed to help us deal with short-term threats, such as being chased by a predator.

When this system is activated, the body releases hormones like adrenaline and cortisol that prepare us to either run away or fight.

The problem is that our bodies can't always tell the difference between a real threat and a perceived threat.

Something small that causes a tiny amount of anxiety is enough to kick off our stress response.
