Emil S. Manios, February 22, 1941 - August 10, 2024.
Emil S. Manios, 83, of Clermont, FL died late Saturday at home. Emil is survived by his beloved wife, Faten Manios and their children, Jacqueline Kirollos of Ontario, Sandra Buja and her husband Matthew of Windermere, and Mina Manios and his wife Katherine of Baltimore; his beloved grandchildren, Alexis Hernandez and her husband Christopher, Antony Kirollos, Timothy Kirollos, Jonathan Buja, Alexandra Buja, Austin Manios, and Mary Emelia Manios; his sisters Siham Farres and Suzan Hanna, and his brother George Manious.
Emil was born in Luxor, Egypt and was raised in Cairo. He earned his civil engineering degree from Cairo Egypt and immigrated to the U.S. via Chicago. Emil enjoyed a successful career as the structural engineer for many Houston skyscrapers, renovations for the Theodore Roosevelt Federal Building and the White House in Washington, D.C., and construction of U.S. embassies in various countries abroad.
Emil married Faten Andrawes on August 23, 1970. The couple began their marital life in Michigan, then moved to Houston, TX for eleven years and Maryland for twenty-three years, where they developed life-long friendships. They briefly lived in Delaware near their daughter before settling into Florida.
Emil was a spiritual man and was actively involved in the Coptic Orthodox Church, serving on the church boards for both St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church in Houston, TX and St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church in Savage, MD.
Emil successfully battled multiple myeloma for over two years. In that time he got to walk his granddaughter down the aisle, enjoy a wonderful family reunion, travel to Egypt, develop new friendships, and create new memories with his loved ones.
Emil will always be remembered for his abundance of love and kindness, and his faith in our Heavenly Father.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024 at St. Rebekah Coptic Orthodox Church:
