Jonah ran from God, but what met him was not only judgment… but mercy.
Yes, the storm came.
Yes, the sea was real.
Yes, his disobedience had consequences.
But God did not leave Jonah there.
Instead of letting the deep consume him,
He appointed a fish.
That is what mercy does.
It meets you in the middle of what you brought on yourself…
and still makes room for rescue.
Sometimes mercy does not look soft.
Sometimes it looks like being stopped.
Sometimes it looks like the very thing that keeps you alive when your choices should have destroyed you.
Jonah deserved the storm.
But even there, God was still writing redemption into the story.
So if you are in rough waters right now, remember this:
God is still merciful enough to rescue people who ran.
Still gracious enough to meet people who failed.
Still kind enough to turn the place of consequence into the place of return.
