Blessings Food Market: The Blessings Food Market is our food pantry ministry of College Church of the Nazarene and it serves to pass on the blessings from the Lord, through those who have been blessed to those wh
o need a blessing with groceries to feed their families. There are many people who have experienced some hard financial burdens during these tough economic times, and this is one of the ways that we can show God's love. We are taking the Church to the neighborhoods, sharing Christ with children, youth and parents, being Jesus with skin on. Many from unchurched homes will not bother to come to church on a Sunday morning, but we can go to them by way of a Church on Wheels. On Saturday mornings during the summer we go to apartment complexes and parks to present the Gospel through lively music, games, skits, puppets, prizes, food, and just hangin' out. Shirt Share: The Shirt Share annual event is a outreach ministry of College Church of the Nazarene. We provide Olathe families with warm clothing for their families, groceries and professional family portraits as well as haircuts - completely free. This event is held during the month of October on a Saturday. If you are interested in taking part in this event please contact our office for more information. Shade Tree Auto Care Ministry: A ministry that provides oil and filter changes for Single Moms, Handicapped, Senior Adults, the unemployed and under-employed. We will offer this ministry service on the last Saturday of every month. Our labor for the service is FREE. All the owner has to do is to furnish or pay for the oil filter and motor oil used. The NAPA Automotive Store on Santa Fe has partnered with us to furnish the oil and filter free of charge to those who would qualify through our Community Up-Reach Ministries Program. Our volunteer mechanics will check "under the hood" for general maintenance, provide a "check-list" of items inspected and check and fill all fluid levels. Plus, they will check the air pressure in your tires and vacuum the inside of your car. Angel Small Mall: As a community ministry, Angel Small Mall was created to assist those families who are unable to purchase gifts for their loved ones for Christmas. Items are donated on a certain date, Uphaus Hall is set up for children and parents to come and shop for their family members. Families are selected by application or referral. Hundreds of people in the Olathe community are reached out to through Angel Small Mall and it is an incredible opportunity for those in the church to be a part of a practical and inspiring outreach ministry. Miscellaneous: Our office handles a lot of things that do not fit into any of the above categories such as emergency help with moving, needs matching, discipleship, financial counseling, etc. We are always in need of volunteers and people willing to help in any of these areas.
