One Stitch in the Veil

One Stitch in the Veil Join our Bible studies every spring and fall for Scriptural support and strength. My name is Kathryn Dockins. You are not alone. There is HOPE. There is.

Spiritual encouragement for any harmed by the spiritual deception of Hebrew Roots Movement, and education for those trying to understand why their loved ones are changing. In 2019 I was introduced to what is called the Hebrew Roots Movement. You may also be familiar with terms such as Hebraic Roots, Jewish Roots, and Torah-observant. Our faithful God brought me out of this deception in December of

2021. It was short lived, praise God, but it went deep very quickly. I have this page and a YouTube channel of the same name to share my experience with you. I have two missions: First, to comfort those who have walked this false doctrine and have come out feeling confused, alone, and maybe even feeling shame. I want to pray for you, encourage you and lift you up. Second, I desire to help those with loved ones who are under this false teaching to understand why and how their loved ones may be where they are. I also want to pray you and your loved ones and encourage you. Don't give up.

Our Ephesians Bible study begins tomorrow morning, Monday 10am CST/1000 hrs. We have room for a few more! We will walk together through what our Lord Jesus has accomplished for us, how to live a life pleasing to Him, and grow in the knowledge of our security. At the end, we’ll learn how to put on the armor of God, piece by piece, to continue in the faith armed against doubt and deception.

I utilize several resources, always held accountable by Scripture, for each study to get the fullest picture and understanding of each book or topic we study. This fall, I am excited to incorporate a few concepts and questions from Lydia Brownback’s Ephesians: Growing In Christ. Lydia leads women well through the principles and heart Ephesians. Each study, I send a list of all the resources I pull from for theological principles, historical information, and Biblical interpretations. I am adamant about this transparency because we must know where our information is coming from, if the sources are historically accurate, have had accountable peer review, and most importantly, align with the Holy Scriptures. Deceptive faiths pull from the imagination, random articles based on suspicion, and stories built from questionable histories. We want to know our sources are Biblical, properly researched, and sound. If we follow a teacher, or even a Bible study leader, it is okay to, and necessary to ask, “Where did this information originate?”

Good morning!

Our Covenants study begins TONIGHT! There is still room for a few more. The study intro videos have been removed now that our groups are starting back up, but if you still want to hop in, I have a detailed email I will send with all the info about the videos and more. The Covenants sign-up will officially close on Monday. Look for more studies starting January 2025 after the holiday season.
Note* These studies are for those dealing with the harmful effects of Hebrew Roots in some way, either directly having walked it or having loved ones in it. If you are teaching or believe that any requirement for the feast, festivals, or strict adherence to a Saturday-only rest exists for salvation, obedience, or even as a "should," this is not the group for you. Still, I pray you are well and continue to seek our Messiah and find Biblical freedom in what "walk as He walked" means. Love to all, regardless of where you stand.

“Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are in the Law, so that every mouth may be shut and all the world may become accountable to God;
because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.
THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD THROUGH FAITH
But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction;
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;
being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;
whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith, for a demonstration of His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed;
for the demonstration of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.
For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.”
Romans 3:19-27

Question! Does anyone need some holiday support? If so, could you post below if this would benefit you? We'll get together on Zoom in early December for prayer and encouragement if there is interest.

Happy August! I am so excited to share with you some upcoming things and to watch what God will do this year in bringing hope and restoring strength to those who have been caught in deception. I've learned a lot this summer as I've taken time for school travel and pouring into my family relationships. I thank God to be back with you all and thank Him for bringing those of you I've met along the way into my life. You are a blessing!

Happy end of summer! I hope you are all ready to begin the fall season approaching us and that you've had a blessed summer. OneStitch is ready to inform, upd...

We in Christ are "freed by grace and driven by love" ~ Gregg Allison on Saint Augustine's explanation of the change in the life of Christian.

04/01/2024

Happy Easter and Resurrection Day! Our Messiah demolished the dividing wall of hostility (which was a literal and figurative wall) to fulfill the great mystery: that all who repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God and count on His great act of love, his gift of mercy, by grace through faith alone for their righteousness will receive eternal life.

Let us not forget that this eternal union with the Father through the Son and the work of the Holy Spirit is not limited to Israel but extends to Jews and Gentiles alike! Through the baptism of the Holy Spirit in Christ, we are cleansed and washed white as snow by His blood. This allows us to enter the very inner room, the Mercy Seat, where we are all seated with Him, united in our salvation. The veil is gone!

The outcome of this great gift, as beautifully explained in the book of Ephesians, is that all who are in Christ are unified. The salvation of His people and the unity we have together in His body is what He died for. Let us never put the dividing wall of judgment back up and deny what the sacrifice and rising of our Savior has accomplished! Instead, let us be unified, believing and trusting in one Jesus Christ, who set us free from the law of sin and death and made us alive with the cup of His new covenant. We cannot glorify our Savior by biting and devouring one another over laws that elevate outward works above the inner work of the Holy Spirit. He alone sets us apart for Christ and witnesses to the world that we love the Father by how we love one another.

He is risen! To Jesus Christ be the glory forever and ever! May we, now being new creations in Him, having His very Spirit, be set apart in Biblical love for one another and glorify our King and what He came to do. So much love to you all! Happy Easter!

"Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord, exhort you to walk worthy of the calling with which you have been called,
with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling;
one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.
But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.
Therefore it says,
“When He ascended on high,
He led captive a host of captives,
And He gave gifts to men.”
(Now this expression, “He ascended,” what does it mean except that He also descended into the lower parts of the earth?
He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.)."

How do we navigate friendships of those involved in a false teaching? Do we hang on or let go? Do we say something, or keep the peace? Let's walk through it together with Biblical examples, and ultimately, allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in how to Biblically hold on or let go of friendships. There is no formula because the Hebrew Roots Movement has many levels and beliefs. Also, our friends may be in the beginning deceived stages, or full teachers of this belief system. Our friends might be peaceful and kind, or they may have changed and are now volatile or abusive. As always, let's walk this together, pray for one another, and allow grace in the gray areas as we all follow the Holy Spirit's leading in how to Biblically navigate these uncharted waters. Much love and grace. ~ Kathryn

Good morning!

Our current Bible study is now full, but keep watch! This Bible study on understanding and strengthening us in God's Redemption Plan and the New Covenant will be repeated in the Spring. I will also add an Ephesians study for those who are too drained or in pain to touch on Hebrew Roots. The purpose will be to dive deep into the love and grace of Jesus Christ to allow His words to restore you to the word of God in its proper lens and help secure you in the truth of who you are as a gentile believer.

I advocate and strongly encourage you all to plug into a local church. We MUST be in the accountability of a body of believers. There is no perfect church, and there are certainly no perfect believers, so we have to look for the essential truths to be taught and then go and be a light, walking in humility and service as we love imperfect people---like ourselves. However, I understand too well the hesitance to jump into fellowship after deception and the healing that has to take place. My Bible study groups are not meant to replace your local church but to provide you a place of support and strengthening in God's word while you regain your strength to join the body of believers again. Pray and seek God daily to bring you to a church if you are not in one. Take your time, but commit to attending a different church every week until you find one. God bless you and keep you!

Dear Women,

Bible study tomorrow!

I am SO excited to offer, by the grace and goodness of our Father, a new branch of One Stitch in the Veil! Please pray for this new branch of ministry. The Holy Spirit has stirred in my heart a Biblical compelling to walk in His word with other women affected by Hebrew Roots in various ways.

Our Bible study kicks off TOMORROW, February 12th, with TWO time slots! It is not too late to join! Please email [email protected] to join in. Details below:

WHEN: TOMORROW, Monday, February 12th, 9 am CST or 6 pm CST. Every Monday for 5 weeks.

WHERE: Zoom. Dowload the free version for your desired device.

WHY: We want to grow together in strengthening our foundation in God's great and merciful plan of redemption for His people. My prayer is that this study and time together strengthen both those who need personal nourishment and loving care after walking Hebrew Roots and those who wish to become better equipped to love and speak truth to loved ones trapped in this false doctrine.

Our first hour will be to introduce ourselves, share our stories (if desired), and for me to listen to your needs and desires for this study so I can better serve you. Topics we will cover (there are many components to each, and we will dive into the New Testament along with each):

God's Redemption plan for HIs people
The Covenants (all of them)
The shadows and the Substance of the Mosaic Covenant
The Sabbath day in the Ten Commandments

*This Bible study is currently reserved ONLY for those affected by Hebrew roots, having been in it and now come out, and those struggling with loved ones in it. Thank you for understanding our specific mission.

Kathryn
