Our Lady of Good Counsel,

We remember September 11 and the grief carried by so many broken hearts. Hold close those who mourn, and sustain the survivors whose lives were forever changed.

Revive in us the unity we found in our darkest hour. Bridge the divides that separate us. Calm our fears, soften our hearts, and teach us to choose compassion over suspicion, courage over hatred, and peace over division.

May we remember not only what was lost and their families, but also the love, sacrifice, and humanity that endured.

Bring comfort to the grieving, strength to the weary, and peace to us all. Amen.

Lord, on this Labor Day weekend, we thank You for the gift and blessing of work.Thank You for the energy, skills, and opportunities you give us to contribute to our communities and provide for our families. As we pause to rest, we ask for Your peace to quiet our minds and bodies. Refresh us where we are weary, and restore our spirits during this time of leisure. Lord, we also lift up those who are carrying heavy burdens: Be with everyone who is searching for a job, granting them hope, guidance, and new opportunities. Strengthen those who work long, dangerous, or difficult hours, and those whose labor goes unnoticed. Provide for individuals and families struggling to meet their daily expenses. Help us to value one another, appreciate our shared dignity, and treat every worker with fairness and respect. Remind us of Your comforting promise: “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy burdened, and I shall give you rest.” Amen. ❤️

Today is Founders’ Day of Giving! Please consider a gift and share a memory with a Sister who impacted your life! It is more important than ever to show our support of our Sisters. As they continue to age, they require different levels of assisted care in appropriate living facilities. Currently, 22 of our 40 Sisters are living in some form of assisted care accommodation. Let’s show our Sisters how much we love and appreciate them on their 140th Anniversary! ❤️

As a member of the LCWR – Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) – the Sisters of the Divine Compassion have entered a period of reflection in preparation for the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, and our nearly 300 years of presence, service, and leadership in the United States.

As we honor the 250 years of our nation’s history, we ask you to join us in solidarity and prayer as we submit a Letter, Prayer and Declaration of Commitment to each member of Congress. Please pray for the safe delivery and positive reception by our Congressional Leaders, as well as the renewal of our nation’s commitment to ensuring that life, liberty, faith and the flourishing of the human spirit are possible for all.

For 140 years, the Sisters of the Divine Compassion (RDCs) have been the compassionate presence of God in our world – in our homes, parishes, communities and schools. So many of us have been blessed by our relationships with the Sisters.

On July 1, 2026 - the 140th anniversary of the founding of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion - friends of the RDCs will honor the Sisters for their meaningful and lasting impact on our lives.

Whether a Sister was your teacher, therapist, advocate, family member or friend, we encourage you to in honor or in memory of a Sister. Be sure to share your memory with your contribution - the Sisters love to read and reflect on the memories you share.

Thank you for supporting the RDCs on the 140th anniversary of their founding!
