A New Breed Of Prophets and Apostles
I believe God is raising prophets who will do more than give secrets about people. I'm grateful for words of knowledge.
They've greatly impacted and strengthened me, but I believe the urgent need of the day is a new breed of prophets who will prophesy the secrets of God's heart, mind, and will from the place of intimate friendship with God.
I declare that weeping apostles will arise as well.
These will be those who labor in travail until Christ is formed in this generation.
These apostles and prophets will also do more than speak words, but I believe they will weep words.
I'm convinced the only thing that will cut through the dullness, indifference, and callousness of this generation is a messenger who weeps as he or she speaks.
We need weeping messengers.
The billboards, T-shirts, and bumper stickers aren't going to break through the walled-up hearts of people.
We desperately need tears.
We've gone through too many dry-eyed, clean-cut, polished, articulate, and attractive communicators. They say all the right words. They have all the perfect sermons, but where are their tears?
We need a new generation of prophetic messengers who speak from hearts that have been deeply cut by the words they speak.
We need messengers who have stayed up and wept with Jesus.
We must have apostles who have wept with the Weeping God, whose hearts have been weighted with concern for the Church, souls, and nations.
We need broken messengers.
We need messengers who are actually cut and have been wounded instead of having it all together—messengers who are broken.
These are the messengers the Church is desperate for, and we need them by the thousands.
Jesus wept.
