On Right and Wrong, S***m and Gomorrah, and the Anti-Israel Crowd

Some thoughts this morning.
I read through a bunch of comments on previous posts from the anti-Israel crowd, and one thing stands out again and again - the absolute conviction that Israel is an evil force in the world.

While I strongly disagree, it is fascinating to observe the way some people insist on depicting Israel as a genocidal, insane, out-of-control entity that contributes nothing but destruction and therefore should not exist.
That mindset reminded me of the biblical story of S***m and Gomorrah.

The Bible describes S***m and Gomorrah as the embodiment of corruption, cruelty, and moral collapse. Ironically, the Hebrew word the Bible uses for their behavior is “חמס” (ḥamas) - which in biblical Hebrew means violence, injustice, wickedness, deceit.
I’ll leave that thought with you.

In the story, God tells Abraham that He plans to destroy the cities entirely. Abraham pleads with Him:

What if there are 50 righteous people?
What about 45? 40? 30? 20?
What about 10 righteous people?

They search. They find none.
Aside from Lot, Abraham’s nephew.

Lot is rescued, and the corrupt cities are destroyed.

So to the anti-Israel crowd that keeps returning to this page, I want to ask you something:

(And by the way, no one is forcing you to be here. The fact that you show up again and again tells me that either you’re trying to prove something, or a part of you is searching for truth about Israel.)

Do you really see Israel as S***m and Gomorrah? A society with zero redeeming value? A nation that brings nothing to humanity?

Really?

Let’s look at reality for a moment:

Medicine
Israel contributes breakthrough after breakthrough:

👉 Vision restoration technologies

👉 Life-saving drugs such as Copaxone for MS
👉 PillCam, the swallowable medical camera

Rescue Teams

Israel is one of the first nations to land after earthquakes, hurricanes, and tsunamis. Haiti, Turkey, Nepal, Japan, Mexico, and one of the last to leave.

Its field hospitals are ranked among the best in the world by the UN.

Technology

Israel’s tech ecosystem is considered second only to Silicon Valley:

👉 Waze
👉 Mobileye
👉 Check Point
👉 Iron Dome
👉 Intel Israel
👉 Cybersecurity that protects hospitals, airports, and governments worldwide

Agriculture

Israel pioneered:

👉 Drip irrigation (Netafim)
👉 Desert agriculture
👉 Salt-resistant crops
👉 Precision farming

Tech that is used in over 100 countries, making deserts green again.

Water Recycling & Desalination

As droughts spread worldwide, Israel leads the world in:

👉 Water desalination
👉 Wastewater recycling
👉 Smart water management

Countries from California to India come to learn from Israel.

Science & Nobel Laureates

Israel is one of the top countries in Nobel Prizes per capita, especially compared to large nations, proving how a tiny country can have an outsized impact on chemistry, physics, medicine, and economics.

So back to S***m and Gomorrah…

Abraham begged God to spare a doomed city if even ten good people could be found.

Even if you, wrongly in my opinion, believe Israel is “bad” can you not find ten people in Israel who bring goodness into the world?

Ten farmers?
Ten scientists?
Ten doctors?
Ten volunteers?
Ten rescuers?
Ten innovators?

Ten human beings whose lives make the world better?

Because if you cannot even acknowledge that, then I believe the issue is not Israel at all. It is something inside your own worldview, your own struggle with the idea of goodness, justice, and even with God Himself.

CJV UK Demands BBC Clean House After Director General, News CEO Resign in Scandal
Baltimore, MD, Nov. 11, 2025—CJV UK, the British wing of the Coalition for Jewish Values, demanded a full effort by the BBC to "clean house" after the leaked Michael Prescott dossier, an independent review of BBC coverage, unearthed pervasive bias within the BBC that was both anti-Trump and antisemitic. BBC Director General Tim Davie and News CEO Deborah Turness were both forced to resign after the dossier revealed clearly misleading edits to a speech by Donald Trump delivered January 6, 2021.

The leaked internal report, revealed by The Daily Telegraph, also shows that senior BBC managers ignored repeated warnings of bias across multiple languages and divisions of the BBC and BBC World Service. It describes unverified claims, emotive framing, and coverage that falsely cast Israel as the aggressor while minimising Israeli suffering.

“The BBC is funded by every household in Britain,” said CJV UK Chairman Rabbi Jonathan Guttentag. “When it gives more credibility to terrorists than to their victims, it betrays the trust of the British public. This is not a political matter—it is a profound moral failing on the part of the BBC.”

CJV UK accused the BBC of using biased and distorted coverage to fuel hostility toward Jews and Israel, both within the UK and worldwide. Antisemitic incidents in Britain have surged since Oct. 7, 2023, and the Yom Kippur attack on Heaton Park Shul serves as a chilling reminder that demonising Israel is a pretext that can lead directly to violence against British Jewry.

“When the world’s most influential broadcaster portrays the victims of genocidal terrorism as the oppressors and excuses terror as resistance, it spreads prejudice from Manchester to Melbourne,” Rabbi Guttentag said. “Words have consequences—and misinformation can cost lives.”

Scientists conducted a remarkable study. A single drop of a participant’s blood was placed under a microscope and projected on a screen. What they saw was captivating: bacteria slowly moving around… and macrophages — the “clean-up crew” of the blood — just lying dormant.
The bacteria were wandering freely, as if on a peaceful evening stroll. The macrophages? Fast asleep, ignoring their job entirely.
Then something unexpected happened. The participant was shown a funny movie — and as their mood lifted, the macrophages suddenly “woke up.” One of them rolled over to a nearby bacterium and started devouring it with real enthusiasm.
This wasn’t lunch time. This was science.
🧠 Our mood directly influences our immune cells.
Here’s the twist: the blood sample had been separated from the participant and was in a different room. Somehow, the change in the participant’s emotional state affected the blood at a distance.
When researchers switched to horror film clips, the opposite happened. The bacteria became energized, multiplied rapidly, and even started attacking the macrophages, forcing them to retreat.
👉 The state of our consciousness plays a critical role in maintaining our inner ecosystem.
And it doesn’t stop with us. Since our relatives share our bloodline, our emotional states can influence their immune systems too — even across continents. This is what some call “family immunity.”
A watchmaker once shared a story: whenever his left index finger would start twitching — making his delicate work impossible — he wouldn’t massage it or take supplements. He’d call his mother, thousands of kilometers away, and say:
“Mom, you’re worrying again! Stop it — I can’t work like this!”
Even mild maternal anxiety was enough to affect his physiology.
🌿 The takeaway:
The old saying “It’s my life, I’ll do what I want” is outdated. Our mental state impacts not just our health, but the well-being of those we love.
So, find ways to cultivate joy, laughter, and inner harmony — not just for yourself, but for your entire “immune tribe.”
PS: This reminds us of Norman Cousins, who famously healed from a terminal illness through laughter. His story, told in “Anatomy of an Illness” (1976), showed that positive emotions can activate the body’s healing systems. Turns out, “Laughter is the best medicine” isn’t just a saying — it’s physiology.
