Fair Bluff North Carolina community please share so individuals and families that need little help during difficult time can ensure they have something to eat.

If you know of elderly person that isn’t comfortable getting out or an individual that doesn’t have transportation to Johnny’s Drive-In blessing box, please take a few minutes to pickup some items to take to them so they do not go without food. Often our elderly are on fixed income and with extreme cold weather we had last month they were forced to pay higher heating cost that will take away from their monthly budget for other expenses.

Thank you to everyone that was able to come out today to volunteer at the Community Food Pantry! Because of your hard work, because of our amazing supporters that fill our shelves, we were able to help roughly 81 households, representing 209 community members!

Tabor City Announces Opening of Emergency Warming Station Ahead of Winter Storm
TABOR CITY, NC – In response to the forecasted winter storm and expected freezing temperatures, the Town of Tabor City will open an emergency warming station to provide a safe, heated environment for residents in need.
Location & Hours
The warming station will be hosted at the Tabor City Courthouse, located at: 110 W 4th St, Tabor City, NC 28463
• Opening: Saturday at 12:00 PM
• Closing: Monday at 10:00 AM
(Note: Opening and closing times may be subject to change based on updated weather forecasts and local conditions.)
Accommodation
To ensure the comfort of those seeking shelter, the facility will provide cots and blankets. Please be advised that space and supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents who have their own small pillows or additional personal blankets are encouraged to bring them.
Facility Rules & Guidelines
To maintain a safe and orderly environment for all visitors, the following rules will be strictly enforced:
• Check-ins required. All visitors of the warming station must check-in.
• Prohibited Items: No alcohol, to***co, va**ng, illicit drugs/substances, or weapons of any kind are permitted on the premises.
• Independence: All occupants must be independently mobile.
• Pet accommodation is NOT available at this location. Residents with service animals are advised to bring necessary documentation and supplies.
• Conduct: Respectful behavior toward staff and fellow occupants is always required.

Please share and help spread the word!

If you know of a family, senior citizen or anyone that is facing difficulties please help get them to the Community Food Pantry this Saturday. Many individuals face challenges due to circumstances out of their control and need a helping hand to get back on their feet. In our rural community, many of the individuals needing help the most struggle is transportation. In rural communities it is much different than in cities because there is miles to commute to places providing assistance vs few city blocks. Let’s keep our eyes and ears open to make sure no one goes without food because of transportation limitations.
