What if the blessing of being pure in heart is that you could see God today?

In the past, I've always thought of seeing God as a blessing for later, a blessing for after this life.

But this time as I read this verse, the spirit reminded me of all the times when I've seen God.

There have been moments in my life when I've been pure in heart, truly seeking to do God's will and seeking Him in my life when I've seen Him.

Not His physical body, but I've seen his hand in the beauty of the world around me, in the stars, in a rainbow stretched across the sky, in the promises He's fulfilled, in His tender mercies and miracles in my life.

As we seek to be pure in heart, we will be blessed to see God today with spiritual eyes and once we receive this amazing gift, the world suddenly becomes a more joyous place because we are not facing it alone.

3 Nephi 17:7, "Have ye any that are...afflicted in ANY MANNER? Bring them hither and I will heal them..."

As we contemplate the Savior's life and ministry, how often do we place the miracles he performed in a storybook form? Sometimes we compartmentalize His miracles as something that happened a long time ago, as part of the scripture stories, but these things really happened and they are happening all around us as we speak.

Is the Savior here physically? No. BUT He does continue to minister to you and me on a daily basis. Just as He had power to heal the Nephites from any affliction, He has the ultimate power to heal our souls from every affliction.

No matter how hard life is right now, look for the Savior and you will find Him. He has never and will never leave us alone. 💞

How do you "cleave unto God?"

For me, I need to keep doing the small things everyday; such as scripture reading and prayer to keep my focus on Him.

But it's more than that. I've noticed that scripture study in the morning is just the beginning. As I go through my day, I feel God close as I make an intentional effort to seek His guidance in every faucet of my life.

As I've tried to be intentional about feeling God near me and hearing His voice, I've noticed that I can more often throughout my day. So much so that even if my prayer in the morning was not the highest quality prayer, I'm able to commune with Him as I go throughout my day. I can feel Him near me...I feel Him cleaving to me and it's a wonderful, safe feeling!

Have you ever despised the revelations of God?

As I think about my life, I probably have at some point. I remember when I was younger thinking that if I were like some of my friends and didn't know God's commandments, then I could do some of the things they were doing and not feel guilty about it. In my mind, that would be easier.

Now as an adult looking back at that time, I can recognize the protection those commandments gave me. They kept me out of harms way and led me safely down the covenant path.

Today, it might be easier for me to recognize the safety commandments provide, but what about personal revelation?

God recently sent me down an unknown path; quitting my job of 10 years based on pure revelation. So far, I've seen some of the "whys," but some questions remain unanswered. That leaves me with an uneasy feeling, wondering if those circumstances will work out.

BUT the one thing I do know is that God has a plan for each of His children. He knows our needs. He wants to give us good gifts. He longs to speak to us and have us obey His wise counsel. This is why I continue in this decision in faith.

"God has promised that if we ask him, we will “receive revelation upon revelation, knowledge upon knowledge, that [we may] know the mysteries and peaceable things—that which bringeth joy, that which bringeth life eternal" (Dallin H. Oaks, April 1989, Alternate Voices, Doctrine and Covenants 42:61).

We need not despise the revelations of God, no matter how much they don't seem to make sense. God's wisdom always trumps our wisdom. We can trust in Him forever.

I recently read on an online platform that the reason people attack our religion is because they are trying to save our souls.

While that might be true, wouldn't it be better to save our souls with love?

Someone else told me that the reason he left The Church of Jesus Christ was because we were becoming too supportive of other religions.

Here's the thing. When someone, ANYONE, no matter their religious affiliation comes closer to Christ, I call that a win.

Our missionaries are sent throughout the world to teach people about Christ. Many people they meet already have a relationship with Christ, and that is AMAZING! EVERYONE NEEDS JESUS!

I love this quote from President Gordon B. Hinckley, "To these we say in a spirit of love, bring with you all that you have of good and truth which you have received from whatever source, and come and let us see if we may add to it" ("The Marvelous Foundation," October 2002).

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints isn't about bringing other people down. It's about lifting people up and pointing them to Jesus Christ, the Savior and Redeemer of the world.

We offer to everyone we meet to come and partake of the goodness of Jesus Christ. Learn about His teachings, His priesthood power and authority, and find His Rest in this life and the next.

There is no attacking necessary. No arguing. Only love. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved" (John 3:16-17).

Throwback Thursday to 2 years ago. Isn't it wonderful to know that because we have made covenants with God, we no longer stand on neutral ground?

We often focus on the promises we make to God, and that's important, but we need to remember that He has made promises with us too and He is WAY better at keeping His promises than we are ours. He WILL NOT ABANDON US! That knowledge feels SO good when life gets hard. ❤

I needed this today...sometimes it's hard for me to receive revelation while praying, BUT as I open my scriptures, I find answers coming, whether they are directly from the words on the page or whisperings that come to my mind.

Opening the scriptures tells God that you are serious about wanting the answers He's promised. It allows you to spend more time in His presence, therefore, allowing the Spirit to manifest His answers to you.

From Jesus Christ himself, "...ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; for he that asketh, receiveth; and unto him that knocketh, it shall be opened (3 Nephi 27:29).

Open your scriptures and receive that which the Lord has prepared for you today! 💞

This scripture hit differently today...

Having a daughter who is literally called to share the gospel with the people in the isles of the sea, makes me think about how God's promises are extended to ALL His people no matter where they are located on earth. Even people on a tiny little 2-mile stretch of atoll in the middle of the Pacific Ocean have claim to all of God's promises.

God is SO good! 💞

THIS is what I love about reading the scriptures...every time I reread them, some things hit differently.

As I was reading these verses yesterday, I thought to myself. "That's it! When I feel like I'm walking in darkness, I need to rekindle the fire so I can walk in the light!"

God has given us a multitude of tools to help us keep the fires of faith burning and to even rekindle fires that are dimming or that have gone out.

Daily scripture study, prayer, good music, and gratitude are among the tools I immediately thought of.

There is no reason to walk in darkness! Pick up some kindling TODAY and rekindle the fire. Walk in the light of the Lord. ❤
