Circumstances are often beyond our control, but the thing that isn’t, is how we choose to respond. As a child of the Most High, we don’t have to be moved by the world around us. Sure, life might hit us hard sometimes- the enemy sets his sights to try and take us out. His job description is to kill, steal, and destroy. But he is limited in power, he is limited in authority, and he can only operate under the the legal authority given to him. He has NO authority over the Christ Follower, except for that which we allow him to have. When we react in a worldly way, we see worldly results and we give the ruler of the world legal access to operate. But when we stand on the Word of God and act accordingly, every door is closed and every foothold is removed- the enemy has no legal ground to stand on. Just a little food for thought!

Today I was thinking about balance. I was thinking about how when you balance, you sort of lean to both directions in a bit of a see-saw like manner. It’s sort of like the ebb and flow of the ocean. There’s a bit of a give and take situation going on.

I watch my little niece as she is learning to walk, run, use steps, etc. I see her little hands going out and her little body learning to balance. No one taught her to do that, it just comes naturally. She has an adventurous spirit about her, and she’s learning to navigate this world while exploring boundaries and limitations. It’s such a precious site to see.

I think much like we cheer her on, Abba is looking down on us as we learn to balance life as adults. I can see Him reaching his hand out for us to grab. I can hear Him saying, “That’s right, you can do it!” The thing is, He has already provided all the tools and instructions we need. We have a manual. And He sent us the Helper, Holy Spirit.

This morning my life feels anything but balanced. But I know a guy! I know The One who brings perfect Peace and balance to me. I know how pause, and reach for the Helper to guide me. I also know that where I am in this season might have came as a surprise to me, but it was not a surprise to my Father. He was already in this season of my life before my life ever began, before the world was even formed. He’s been here waiting on me to get to this time, this place, this season- with His hand out saying “Steady now! Grab my hand. That’s it! I’ve got you. That’s my girl!” And that is the most comforting thing I know.

God, the creator of the universe, is not ever surprised by the times, places, seasons we kind ourselves in and He is not shaken by them either. He is right there, being our “Steady” being our “Calm”- already ahead of us, holding His hand out for us to grab and find our balance. Hallelujah! Glory!!!

This is the day that the Lord has made, I WILL rejoice and be glad in it! The JOY of the Lord is my STRENGTH.

I don’t know what you might be struggling with or battling today, but I surely know without a doubt that the Word of God trumps it all. Stand. Having done all else, STAND. Stand firm on the Word. Speak it out loud. Boldly declare and decree God’s promises into your situation. His Word never fails. It does not fall void. It ALWAYS produces and brings forth LIFE. You have the authority through Christ Jesus and by the power of Holy Spirit to speak LIFE into your circumstances. Hallelujah!

Yesterday I asked you to share your favorite praise and worship music for this season. Today I’m asking you to share the scripture that God has you clinging to in this season, or the verse that has been your “life verse”.

My life verse is Romans 8:28- and I’ve watched Him do it over and over in my life. Is there a scripture that you’ve seen repeatedly pop up over your years? Is God using a scripture in this season for you to cling to and stand on? Share it in the comments to maybe help someone else. (And by commenting you will be helping my page as well.)

Psalm 149:6 “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;”

What are you listening to these days? What praise and worship songs are your “go to” in this season? Iron sharpens iron. Let’s share the songs that help us through in the comments in hopes they will help someone else too! 💕 🎶

“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.” Psalm 122:1

We have been out of church for a few weeks due to a virus that worked its way through our household. We watch online, but it’s not the same. As I was thinking about today- I was thinking about this verse. I am looking forward to next week when this virus is gone and we can get back into church to fellowship with our family. Meanwhile, we will join online again today. I hope you find yourself worshipping the Lord today too. Either in His house or elsewhere. Wherever you are, He is there too! 💕🙌🏻🙌🏻

Forgiveness is for the forgiver, not for the one being forgiven. Choosing to forgive and to walk in forgiveness doesn’t mean you have to remain tied to toxic people. (Bad company corrupts good character) It doesn’t mean you have to trust them again (we are supposed to test the spirits and use discernment). It also doesn’t mean you have to be BFF’s again, acting as if nothing had transpired. It’s perfectly OK to have a healthy pruning and to grow in different directions.
Forgiveness just means you let go of the offense and you walk in the Freedom of Forgiveness, and in the Freedom of Christ. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!
Forgiveness is a key to being set free.

The older we get the more we realize the importance of self care. Over the past couple of years we have done a lot of traveling. On one of our trips to Missouri, I began to notice how frequently we were needing to stop at rest areas. We hit almost every one between home and Jefferson City. I found myself taking off my shoes and standing in the grass, taking in deep breaths of fresh air, and using rails and benches as exercise equipment to stretch my muscles. I remember saying “slow and steady wins the race”.

I don’t know why we (humans) think we need to go longer, faster, work harder to prove points or to keep up with others. Forward movement is forward movement. We can’t judge where we are in life by where someone else is- the circumstances and conditions for growth and movement weren’t the same.

Anyone who has ever participated in a science fair knows the importance of habitat. We must duplicate the exact same environment for testing reactions. Otherwise the base is off. So why do we tend to play the comparison game when we know the base is off from the start?

God didn’t create us to be in competition with one another. He designed us to complement one another and to work together as the Body of Christ. We are different parts of the same body- we aren’t all created to do the same function. But we ARE all called for the same purpose- God’s Kingdom purpose. We should learn Kingdom Principles like rest- and apply them to our lives. Our Creator exampled for us the importance of the Sabbath. We must steward everything we have properly- and that means taking care of our body and using our time and talents wisely. I am so thankful for the breaks I took along my journey- and for hearing the Lord speak to me as I paused to listen.

I challenge you today to slow down- pause and listen. What is God speaking to you in this day, in this season? How can you better steward the things He has entrusted you with?
