PresbyBuild/Habitat of Greater Newburgh PresbyBuild is a partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh, Inc., and Hudson River Presbytery. For further information, contact Rev.

Our mission is to put God's love into action, as we help provide decent, affordable homes for hardworking Habitat partner families. Since our inception in 2002, we have sponsored 7 of the 78 homes completed by Habitat Newburgh. We congregations have supported our work with prayers, fundraising, and volunteer hours: Bethlehem, Campbell Hall, Chester, Cornwall, Calvary, Cold Spring, Goshen, Highland

, Marlboro, Monroe, Montgomery, Otisville, Palisades, Riverdale (Bronx), Thompson Ridge, Union, Wappinger's Falls, Washngtonville and Westminister. The Reformed Church in America's Classis of Orange partnered with us to sponsor House No. 7. Deke Spierling ([email protected]) or Elder Jim Ferguson ([email protected]).

I want to let you know that Habitat Newburgh’s Walk for Housing on April 28 was a great success. The weather was damp, but spirits were high, and the Walk garnered more than $54,000.

Of the Walk total, $8,623 was designated for PresbyBuild! THANK YOU to all who walked, donated, prayed and volunteered in other ways.

And remember, the Talent Show will take place on Saturday, May 18, at 1st Presbyterian Church in Montgomery. Please spread the word through Sunday bulletins, etc. Sweet Treats at 2 p.m., and the Show begins at 3 o’clock.

Some important upcoming PresbyBuild events for your calendars:

THIS SATURDAY, March 2nd, 5-7 p.m., FPC Goshen’s annual Chili Dinner in support of PresbyBuild’s House No. 10. Tickets at the door, $10.00, $25.00 for families.

Sunday afternoon, April 28th: Habitat Newburgh’s annual Walk for Housing. Funds raised by individuals and Walker Teams can be designated for PresbyBuild. Further information forthcoming.

Saturday, May 18th, 3 p.m. at FPC Montgomery: The PresbyBuild Talent Show! If you have some talent from your congregation to share, please let Beth Hoeffner ([email protected]) or Deke Spierling ([email protected]) know. Again, further information will be forthcoming.

Great News!
The Hudson River Presbytery Council approved a $5,000 gift to PresbyBuild this year. They are discussing how to include this request as a continuing budget item, but want to make this gift at this time.
