Wednesday evening, the Men of Central UMC Newberry, SC provided a hamburger cookout with all of the trimmings and the Getz Family (Brian, Tina, and Andie) welcomed us to their home for a fun time of swimming, games, and fellowship. Thank you!

Shout out to Trinity UMC Newberry, SC and New Hope United Methodist Church (Pomaria, SC). On Tuesday for lunch, the ladies of Trinity provided plenty of sandwiches along with chips and dessert for lunch. Mrs. Phyllis and Mrs. Barbara (all cooked by Mrs. Barbara) from New Hope served up a great dinner for us on Tuesday night.

A huge thank you to Central UMC Newberry, SC for taking care of our meals on Monday! The church provided sandwiches for lunch and the ladies of Circles 7 and 8 made a camp favorite - Chicken Tettrazini - for supper!

Sunday was a busy day as we met, formed our site groups, viewed homes, worshipped, and prepared for our first day of work on Monday. Thank you to our at Ebenezer UMC for the warm welcome and the delicious meal on Sunday evening! It is always great and is certainly a wonderful way to start our week together.

With deep sadness, we share the news of the passing of Renee Chapman with our Salkehatchie family. Renee passed away this morning after a lengthy and courageously fought battle with cancer. Renee was a long-time camper, site leader, and former assistant director of the Newberry Camp. Please remember her family and friends in your prayers - especially her son, Jesse, and her husband, Will. Our hearts ache, but we know that she has been healed and made whole. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant! Enter into the joy of thy Lord!"
