Saturday 23 May was a very special day for us in the Central Hawkes Bay Anglican Parish as we welcomed our new Deacon to the clergy team. Donna Cruickshank was ordained by Bishop Andrew at the Napier Cathedral in a very moving ordination service. We were all so delighted to see Joan Edmundson our previous vicar and Andrew her husband. Joan and Andrew travelled from Gisborne to join the celebration and Joan presented Donna to the Bishop. We were also thrilled to see Sybil Gibson again - she delivered a wonderful sermon about the important role that deacons play.

The next day we held a wonderful combined parish Pentecost service at St Mark's Church in Takapau, Donna's local church followed by a shared lunch.

A wonderful turn out to support our fair fund raiser for the wander search trackers to support people with dementia or other cognitive issues who are at risk of wandering and getting lost! Thank you everyone! I will pass on the total sum raised when I hear it!

NO SERVICES TOMORROW !!. Bishop Andrew is recommending that no services be held in the diocese tomorrow because of the risk travelling during the Cyclone. We are therefore cancelling all our ser vices. You can join a zoom service being held at Waiapu Cathedral. Here is the link below:

Our Easter Week services begin on Thursday evening begin with a Maundy Thursday service at St Mary's, Waipukurau at 6.00pm where we remember when Jesus washed the disciples' feet the night before Good Friday. Please do join us for this very moving service which is a parish wide event.
