Sometimes healing doesn’t look like what we expected. It looks like finally saying the thing you’ve held for years. It looks like a body that slowly stops bracing. It looks like weeping in a retreat circle and realizing, for the first time in a long time, that you are not alone.

["I was unsure what to expect, attending my first GPC retreat as an intercessor observer. What I discovered was genuine connection, a gentle holding of each other and a beautiful sense of care, consideration and bravery. Even over Zoom, the facilitators created a safe, welcoming environment from which we all felt able to share and show up, not only as eager learners, but as delicate, broken humans, seeking wholeness. " (Jennifer F-M.)]

This is the work. We’re honored to do it alongside you. Visit our website to explore GPC programs this spring.

This week's challenge: Practice love as an action.

That means:
→ Forgive someone who doesn't deserve it (yet)
→ Reach out to someone you've been avoiding
→ Encourage a stranger
→ Serve without being asked

This week, we're challenging our GPC community to move from feeling to doing. Who will you choose to love actively?

Who's in? Comment "💛" if you're taking the challenge.

Resurrection is not only something that happened long ago.

It happens every time someone finds healing.
Every time forgiveness replaces resentment.
Every time courage rises from fear.

This month, we're sharing stories of transformation from our GPC family, real people, real struggles, real hope. Because we believe that when we tell the truth about our brokenness and healing, we give others permission to believe transformation is possible for them, too.

What happens when we stop seeing love as something we either have or don’t, and start treating it as a discipline? bell hooks invites us to understand that “to be loving is to be open to grief, to be touched by sorrow, even sorrow that is not our own.”

This is not soft work. It is the deepest kind of courage, to remain present to what is broken, in ourselves and in others, trusting that grace is already moving there.

GPC’s healing ministry is built on this willingness. Learn more: https://gestaltpastoralcare.org/

We use the word “love” so often, but what does it actually require of us?

bell hooks wrote that love is “a combination of care, commitment, knowledge, responsibility, respect, and trust.” Not a feeling we fall into. A practice we choose to build. At Gestalt Pastoral Care, this is what we mean by healing ministry, showing up to another person’s inner life with all of these things. Present. Accountable. Rooted.

What would it look like to love yourself with the same intentionality this week? To learn more about our work, visit our website.

Burnout doesn’t happen overnight.
It happens when the body is ignored for too long.

This workshop creates space for clergy to:
• Reconnect with their own needs
• Learn embodied self-care practices
• Restore balance in ministry

If April has felt heavy… same.

Remember: The tomb was heavy, too. And still, it opened.

Hold on.
New life often begins quietly.
In the whisper.
In the waiting.
In the "I'm still here."

You're still here.
Keep going.

If you needed this reminder today, let us know. We're praying for everyone reading this who is carrying a heavy tomb right now. You are not alone.

Easter is the original story of transformation.

At GPC, we believe that same resurrection love is at work in every healing journey. In every person who opens to grace. In every wound that becomes a site of wholeness for someone else. This Easter, may you know that love is at work in you.
We’re grateful you’re part of this community.
