Kehilat Yavneh

Kehilat Yavneh Kehilat Yavneh is a community run Partnership Minyan that davens on Shabbat morning. Some come simply because Yavneh is a nice place to Daven.

We create a meaningful, spirited, and participatory experience for both women and men in our community, operating within the bounds of Orthodox Halakha. Kehilat Yavneh is a Partnership Minyan founded in 2006 that meets monthly from September through May on New York City's Upper East Side. Our goal is to create a community where people of all levels of observance can explore their relationship with

God, prayer and their community. Yavneh’s spiritual and inclusive services operate within the framework of Halakha, including a Minyan of ten men and a Mechitza. We invite women to lead specific parts of the service as permitted by Halakha and welcome women into the leadership of the Minyan. Integral to our philosophy is the belief that a community is immeasurably strengthened when all members, both women and men, are fully involved and engaged as members and leaders. We are an activist community that encourages those who come to participate and contribute by any means available to them. Our participants have varied backgrounds and are often active in other communities as well. All of us are drawn to Yavneh because we are seeking something more – be it greater participation, a more personal prayer experience, or greater spiritual connection to Tefilah and community. We look forward to welcoming you personally.
