As I sit here and reflect upon the events that accured here on Staten Island three years ago today, I am overcome with emotions while looking back at both the destruction and loss of life as well as at how far we have all come since then. As I reflect back, I feel it is a perfect time to say thank you. For those of you who may not know, the Episcopal Diocese of New York Hurricane Sandy Recovery Program has come to a close. A huge thank you to the thousands of people who helped make this recovery effort effective. It would be impossible to name every individual by name because there are just so many people who played a role in this effort. If you are one of those thousands of people who had even a small hand in the Episcopal Diocese of New York Recovery effort on Staten Island, thank you. Whether you are from Episcopal Relief and Development, The Episcopal Diocese of New York, Parishes from the Diocese, or Staten Island Parishes, or if you are one of the volunteers from across the country, one of the interns, or part of the other organizations that we partnered with along the way, know that each and every one of you made a huge difference. You helped to not only rebuild homes, but to rebuild lives. It is my honor and privilege to have served the Lord in such an amazing way. I hope and pray that each and every one of you continue to serve others by making a difference in other people's lives. I wish you all the best, Darrell.
