Why does God listen to the prayer of King Hezekiah prayer?
Short background
King Hezekiah is the son of King Ahaz of Judah, the thirteenth king of Judah. A righteous king, God-fearing, and exemplary leader of Judah.
Issues that cause him to weep bitterly before the presence of God:
• The threat from King Sennacherib of the mighty Assyrian that Judah is the next kingdom to conquer of his great cruel warriors (Isaiah chapter 37).
• The word of God through the prophet Isaiah came to him that he needs to put in order his kingdom for he is about to die because of his boil problem (Isaiah chapter 38)
King Hezekiah, amidst these gigantic threats of his kingdom and physical ailment, has led him to pray bitterly and sincerely before the presence of God, begging to consider his father; David's faithfulness kind of service showed to God and also of his suitable patterned type of life in the life of David to please God in everything he does.
Because of the sincere prayer of King Hezekiah, Isaiah went to King Hezekiah and told him that God had listened to his prayers. He will live for another fifteen years, and the warriors of King Sennacherib were killed off one angel of the Lord. And when King Sennacherib escaped to Nineveh, and while praying to his stone God, his two sons assassinated him.
King Hezekiah lived joyfully and praised and worshiped God because of His faithfulness and mercy.
