We are searching for a Payroll Clerk who is open to a 2-3 month contract assignment with our Financial Services client in Midtown Manhattan. Our client’s payroll department needs an extra set of hands to assist them with administrative and filing tasks. Prior experience using Workday is a big plus! The position pays $25/hr and is 40 hours a week.

You will be the “face” of the company for all visitors and will be responsible for the first impression we make. The ideal candidate will have a friendly and easy going personality while also being very perceptive and able to manage a range of tasks. The goal is to make guests and visitors feel comfortable and valued while on our premises.

As a member of the team you will be one of 3 receptionists managing 2 front desk areas on a rotational basis, as well as providing back up support to the Executive Assistant when required. This is a fantastic opportunity to get your foot in the door and has historically led to promotion to other areas of the company, or to roles with our clients.

Responsibilities

· Keep reception area tidy and presentable

· Serve visitors by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately

· Answer, screen and forward any incoming phone calls while providing basic information when needed

· Send welcome emails to new staff and assist with ID card allocation

· Receive letters, packages etc. and distribute them

· Prepare outgoing mail by drafting correspondence, securing parcels etc.

· Monitor office supplies and place orders when necessary

· Keep updated records and files, such as company directory and org charts

· Assist events team when required

· Take up other duties as assigned (travel arrangements, schedules etc.)



Requirements

· Prior experience as front desk representative or administrative assistant desirable

· Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel and Word)

· Strong communication and people skills

· Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities

· Problem-solving skills

· Customer service orientation
