GYPSY 83 DIRECTORS CUT
OPENS FRIDAY AT THE QUAD CINEMA NYC

This weekend the 25th anniversary of the cult classic film Gypsy 83 will be celebrated with a twirl and a bang. The film has been completely reimagined as a brand-new Director's Cut, restored in 4K from the 35mm camera negative. Friday 8/14 the new version with 40 additional minutes will debut at the Quad Cinema. The weekend opening begins a theatrical run with a digital release set for later this year.

The 2001 coming-of-age film was inspired by NOTS and we collaborated with director Todd Stephens and the performance legend Poison Eve for a tribute number at the 2026 Night of 1000 Stevies. The film is set to music from The Cure, Cabaret Voltaire and other goth musical greats, and is beloved by gothic believers, gay searchers, and of course Stevie fans.

Gypsy 83 tells the story of goth misfits and Stevie Nicks superfans Gypsy Vale (Sara Rue) and her younger, q***r protégée Clive Webb (Birkett Turton). Sandusky, Ohio is hell on earth for the duo. When they discover a New York City club is hosting a “Night of 1000 Stevies”, the pair hit the road with high hopes that Gypsy will be able to perform. Along the way, they encounter other misfits who pave the way to their salvation, all while discovering profound truths about themselves.

GYPSY 83 is a part of our legacy and we look forward to seeing it reborn for a new generation. The director will appear at the 7:10 Friday and Saturday night showings at the Quad and there will be four showings a day through August 20.

NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES NEW ORLEANS
2026 UPDATE

Greetings to our adored audience, performers and fellow chiffonheads. Here's an early Summer update on our Fall/Winter plans for NOTS NEW ORLEANS and beyond. Due to a heavy travel/project schedule in September and October, we JACKIE FACTORY producers will not be bringing you NOTS NOLA 6 in 2026.

We were so happy with the November 2025 edition at beloved Marigny venue The AllWays Lounge & Cabaret, the love and extraordinary performances that night. Alas it is not always possible for us to produce two full editions of this complex show every year, and we only want to give you our best. We've decided to focus all of our Crystal Vision on the 2027 New York City show coming the second weekend in May to Irving Plaza.

NOTS 2027 will mark our 35th edition, an extraordinary milestone. We are already beginning to imagine the shape it will take, and will need every bit of that extra production time. We will be announcing the exact date in the Fall, but it will definitely be on the SECOND weekend of May this year due to the Beltane holiday falling the weekend before.

Till then, so much love and magick from our East Village headquarters. And New Orleans family and friends we'll be back in town for Halloween as always, and then return Thanksgiving till late February.

THE NOTS 2026 VIDEOS CONCLUDE
AMBER MARTIN

Our last video from this year's show belongs to Queen of 1000 STEVIES vocalists and NYC performance/ Scissor Sisters star Amber Martin. Amber closed out the year's performances with a deep cut, Stevie's rarely performed "Fireflies" the song she had debuted at the show with back in the late Oughts.. With her talented ensemble NATH ANN CARRERA, BRETT EVERY, SUE KING and JESSE KRAKOW, Amber delivered a heartfelt, rocking ending to the show just before the "Battle" that is the finale/bows.

Otherworldly vocalist KRYSTOFER MAISON is a theatrical storyteller with a voice that stretches across genres, moods, and three and a half octaves. In his second performance at NOTS, Maison offered this inspired mashup of the MALIFICENT theme "Once Upon A Dream" and the FLEETWOOD MAC Stevie juggernaut "Dreams."

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE GODDESS NICKS

As she turns 78 today, sending so much love to our Inspirator Stevie Nicks. It isn't just her extraordinary music that we celebrate, but the woman herself and the world that has built up around her.

NIKI LUPARELLI

Boston area chanteuse and producer Niki Luparelli is one of the most gifted performers to join 1000 STEVIES this decade. In her fourth appearance at the show she delivered this rousing take on "If Anyone Falls", a deeper Stevie track that our Enchanted audience adores.

Joining the self-described "Singer, Producer, Comedian and 300 year-old manic pixie dream chaos witch" onstage was keyboardist Allison Sigrist and her fab backup stars.

HONEY TRAP WITH JESSICA RENDON

The female-fronted hard rock band Honey Trap and their dynamic lead vocalist Jessica Rendon delivered this driving, anthemic "Rhiannon" to close Act One of NOTS 2026. The New York City ensemble has brought Stevie's Rock side to the show in their four appearances since the late Teens.

BRIDGET BARKAN

Bridget Barkan is one of the most creative and prolific vocalists of the 1000 STEVIES modern era. Known for her ever-changing productions and lilting vocals, she was the 2018 "poster Stevie" for our NOTS 28: SPELLBOUND edition. Bridget is a native New Yorker and former child actress whose adult career spans disciplines and displays her impressive versatility. She is a member of the pop/glam band Scissor Sisters and will tour with them again in Summer 2026.

For this performance Bridget delivered a stunning version of the iconic "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You" with dancer CASSANDRA GLASER.
