Today is Pentecost Sunday, symbol of fire, which is transformative, illuminating and 50 days after Easter and the celebrated birthday of the Church.  Enlightenment of the Holy Spirit unfolds.  Scriptural exegesis continues to reveal. Jesus transcended the patriarchy and bigotry of his day and we celebrate this with the church of the people (beyond the myopic male hierarchy of our faith tradition.  Sophia Wisdom bless us!) and in alignment ecumenically with other Christian, spiritual and humanist practice traditions and ideals.  Jesus invited those around him to Follow Him via Loving Paths to Enriched Consciousness, with the Beatitudes, and an egalitarian concept of Golden Rule.  The article "the” did not even exist in his spoken Aramaic, regarding Way, Life (Light), Truth.  Misconstrued from the get go, the invitation of disciples to walk with Him was far cry from command or conquer.  “Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire”  Saint Catherine of Siena.  W/  ❤️  ☮️

St. Francis is overlooking the coy pond. Early for set up for this evening Liturgy. After acrivities of the day, I cycled down 11th Ave avoiding a zillion people at annual food fair on ninth. A bit of Heaven is tucked away in the West Village. I'll hit a Meeting down near here tomorrow and stop back to our oasis as the Community here keeps it doors open with the attached art gallery weekdays. An elevator is now being built to the theater above! Yeah! An awesome place. This Episcopal parish opened its doors and arms when DignityNY (LGBTQIA Catholics and Allies) was banished from Institutional Church grounds under infamous Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger (before he continued his reign of not niceness, to say the least as Pope). I find tremendous "Peace and Good" here. Another historical mention, this loving inclusive space opened the doors for the Q***r community to regroup days after the series evenings of the Stonewall Rebellion. God is Love. Love is Love. Now I help fellows set up for our worship service.

JOIN US ON ZOOM FOR THE FIRST SUNDAY OF LENT no-person gathering)
email onlineprayer@dignityny..org for the link and worship aid.

Dear Dignity/New York Community,
After careful consideration, we have decided that our liturgy this Sunday will be held on Zoom only and we will not meet in person.
This decision is based on the current weather advisories, including the Blizzard Warning, expected snow accumulation during the late afternoon and evening hours, dropping temperatures creating icy conditions, and the likelihood of deteriorating travel between 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM. Our priority is the safety of our members and guests, especially those who rely on public transportation or must travel after dark.
Liturgy will begin at our usual time of 6:30 PM Eastern. The Zoom link and worship aid will be sent as usual.
Please help us spread the word by contacting anyone who may not regularly check email or social media. We want to ensure that no one travels unnecessarily.
Thank you for your flexibility and care for one another. We look forward to gathering together virtually.
In community,

Dignity/New York Steering Committee
