Jesus Conquers Death Death is terrible to the unbelieving and the impenitent. Death may seize a believer but cannot hold him in it's power. Through faith in Jesus Christ we have victory over death and the grave. Death is robbed of it's sting. It is a known fact that when certain insects sting a person they leave their stinger imbedded in the person's flesh, and being robbed of their sting, they die. In a real sense death stung. itself to death at the cross, and now the king of terrors is robbed of his terror as far as the believer is concerned. (1Cor 15v57) " But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" The victory consists in the defeat of death by the resurrection. Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory over sin, the sting of death and over the grave. When Jesus was raised from the dead, it wasn't temporary, it was eternal. Death had not merely been postponed, it had been fully conquered. You cannot conquer death by avoiding the issue. You have to meet it and overcome it. Jesus did this, not merely through the resurrection, but He was able to conquer death by His resurrection. Death is no loner a source of dread or fear. Victory was won exclusively at the cross. With the resurrection ratifying what's been done, Death came because of what a man did. Rising from the dead also came because of what a man did. Because of Adam, all die, because of Christ, all will be made alive. Church, can we allow the resurrected Christ to live and reign in our hearts and our lives. Yes we can.
