Helix Healing Collective Transpersonal psychology and ancestral spiritual systems empowering participants to serve the world

Part 2

Knowing where you descend from is like finding your coordinates on a map of time.

It tells us more about where the work is. Now you know where to look. It tells us what the threads are. Which threads are still pulling, where they cross, what’s holding on. Like acupuncture opening a channel so life force can move again, incorporating energy work frees the wisdom of body, mind, spirit, and soul to do what it knows to do now — instead of what it once had to do to survive then.

This is what Dhyāna takes students into in the Helix Training Program, built on four pillars — spiritual discipline, psychological work, altered states, and energy work. Classes resume in the fall. All of it toward one thing: coming home to yourself, multidimensionally whole, and present for your soul’s empowered work in the world.

Part 1 of 2

When a client sits with Dhyāna for psychospiritual integration work, one of the first things she wants to know is: who did you come from?

Ancestry isn’t just history. It’s part of the field your soul was born into. Including the land, the medicine, the survival, the inheritance carried in the body through time-space. What shaped the people your body descends from is still in your blood and bones. It’s in how your nervous system reads a room, what it flags as danger, what feels like home to your human senses.

Epigenetics tells us experience leaves a mark that gets passed down. Energy work lets us feel where that mark still lives in that particular field. It helps us support the broader flow of multidimensional life.

Part 2 coming next. 🌿

Sharing brief notes from a masterclass with psychiatrist Dr. Samah Jabr: Decolonial Mental Health Practice: Insights from Palestine (available through SAND).

This is an unusual post for us. We are not teaching this work at this time, but it deeply aligns with our commitment to relational, culturally grounded healing. We are sharing it to help amplify Dr. Jabr’s important work.

At the heart of her teaching is this question:

How do we move from symptom reduction to dignity restoration?

Dr. Jabr names dignity restoration as a relational practice. She distinguishes shame, which becomes internalized, from the trauma of humiliation—which must be understood within cultural and social context.

Healing begins by listening closely to what already supports a person’s integration, rather than assuming universal methods. As helpers, we are called to meet people where they are and remain open to what each person’s healing process reveals.

Dignity restoration also asks us to witness harm clearly—to name what was wrong, not only how it felt—so people are not left carrying responsibility for what happened to them.

Some wounds are collective.
So the healing must be too.

Your dignity was never lost. It can be restored. 🕊️

The door is open.

Osama Janakat joins Helix tonight — a two-part contemplative series rooted in the Sufi tradition, Sufi Mysticism: The Alchemy of Love.

These aren’t lectures. They’re invitations to the kind of inner work that changes how you move through the world.

The words above belong to Ibn Arabi (1165–1240) — Andalusian mystic, poet, and philosopher, born in what is now Spain, at the height of Islamic civilization in Al-Andalus. Considered one of the most influential Sufi thinkers who ever lived.

Session 1 is tonight, Tuesday June 23, 6–8pm ET.

The passage through this fiery new moon in Aries requires water to balance and harmonize all the fire being activated in life.

I’m grateful for last night’s deluge in Vermont, where the Presence & Water in-person immersion for the Helix Training Program cohort was to be held this weekend. For uniquely individual reasons we were not all able to be here. The universe had other plans for each of us to be where we are—still doing the work that the curriculum provides and invites throughout this journey into consciousness.

Collectively, this weekend brings a culmination of awakening awareness of core wounds. To name them, we need to see them clearly. To notice our experience of them. To rest in relationship with our experience of them, our deepest hurts and how we learned to cope. To notice how our push and pull toward people and experiences now are playing out within our body the experience of hurt in the past. Our abandonment, rejection of self, our core wound we carry in the memory of water, blood, and flesh.

As the light of this awareness radiates into this darkness it both illuminates and makes darker and more obscured in contrast. Now, we are invited to peer deeply into that dark side of this new moon. To love that landscape of our self, and embrace the full dimension of our being in wholeness so that we relate not just as a shadow of ourself or just as the cheery light of our golden qualities, but fully integrated with who we are and what we have experienced so that we can become the full expression our soul embodied in this beautiful, exquisite human body and transmute the pain this vessel has endured. To learn to live with what we have experienced and not be enslaved by our pain. This is what the universe has conspired to support at this time.

We are transforming, and with that evolution everything is changing. As everything shifts, we are in labor with that evolutionary metamorphosis.

Siddhartha Gautama, commonly known as the Buddha (meaning “The Awakened One”), was a spiritual teacher who founded Buddhism in the 6th or 5th century BCE. He is known for his teachings on enlightenment and the path to overcoming suffering through the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path.

The Four Noble Truths are highly relevant today as a practical, therapeutic framework for managing modern anxieties.

🪷 Mental Health: They offer tools for understanding the roots of stress, anxiety, and dissatisfaction.

🪷 Mindfulness: They promote awareness and mindful living, helping individuals detach from unhealthy cravings (e.g., social media addiction, consumerism).

🪷 Personal Growth: They provide a path to emotional regulation and a more balanced life.

The Noble Eightfold Path consists of eight interconnected practices for ending suffering and reaching enlightenment, organized into wisdom, ethical conduct, and mental discipline. Rather than a strict sequence, these steps—Right View, Resolve, Speech, Action, Livelihood, Effort, Mindfulness, and Concentration—are developed simultaneously.

When we can direct this kind of loving-kind attention toward ourselves, it’s easier for love to spill forth from our heart out into the world around us for all beings to thrive in coherence. This is the mission of Helix.

Turn your attention to right speech toward yourself. Notice the tone of your self-talk and begin your awareness practice there for five minutes today.

Witness any judgement with compassion.

Remember to breathe.
