As we prepare to celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary, I am calling for 50 days of prayer—from this Friday, May 15, through July 4. We have one pastor from every state who will lead us in prayer for America at noon every day here on my page or at OneNationUnderGod.com. Let’s join together in PRAYER for our country! “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” (Psalm 33:12).

On this last day of October- Pastors' Appreciation Month I would like to ask is all to appreciate the Pastors who labor over us in caring for the state of our souls.

This is a forwarded message . . .

He who calls you is faithful; he will do it. Brothers and sisters, pray for us also.

1 Thessalonians 5:24-25 CSB

Ahead of Pastor Appreciation Sunday in October, we focus our prayers on the pastors, reverends, and ministers who faithfully shepherd the Church.

Over the next few days, we invite you to ponder something you appreciate about your pastor, or a pastor whose impact continues to shape your relationship with Christ today.

Perhaps they preached on a scripture that revealed great insight into the truth of God’s character to you, or maybe their wisdom in a premarital counseling session has become part of the foundation for your marriage. Consider sharing this lasting spiritual growth with your pastor to encourage them with the fruit of their many efforts, and then commit to pray for them daily through the month of October.

Our appreciation for their faithfulness and sacrifices launches our prayers for God to guard and guide our pastors through the many needs and challenges they face

The median church size in America is made up of less than 100 members, meaning the average pastor in our nation must fulfill many roles and needs within their church.

They can feel pressure from the weight of unrealistic expectations to be a flawless public speaker, a shrewd businessman, a wise accountant, a grief counselor, a marriage therapist, an event planner, a social media influencer and an emergency response coordinator. We must pray for pastors to be filled with the Holy Spirit for all they are called to do and ask God to provide strong teams to serve the church body with many gifts, talents, and capacities.

Findings from a 2024 pastoral wellness study highlighted the sacrifices pastors make, citing that “over 80% of pastors self-reported that they sacrifice their own wellbeing in their ministerial capacity, with over half saying they sometimes sacrifice their family’s wellbeing while doing ministry.”

Children of pastors can be exposed to harsh and negative comments about their parents from young ages, and spouses can experience derisive comments and criticisms on matters that are intended for private family moments rather than public discussion. At times, pastoral families can feel that they live under a microscope. We must pray for the entire pastoral family, that they would be protected and strengthened.

In some circumstances, congregants can unintentionally place pastors on a sort of pedestal, treating them with emotional distance, either as unknowable to the ‘average person’ or disposable and easily replaceable. This isolation of pastors can invite all kinds of struggles, whether depressive episodes, unhealthy habits, or big temptations. We must pray for pastors to have safe, trusted confidants and accountability partners who can encourage them and speak truth into their lives.

Brethren, let's pray for pastors right now.
Lord, You are our Good Shepherd, our Redeemer. We praise You for calling and equipping many believers to shepherd Your flock, the Church. We lift up these spiritual leaders in prayer right now, asking that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit for every task and mission that You have called them to accomplish. Lord, do not let us as the Church body consign the responsibilities of evangelism and discipleship to the ‘professional Christians.’ Help us behold these leaders as fellow Christians that You have called to shepherd and equip us to fulfill the Great Commission together.

Protect and strengthen pastoral families who serve and sacrifice together for the sake of the pastoral calling. Keep pastoral marriages secure and cover their children from things inside or outside the church environment that would harm them.

Bring forth trusted confidants and prayer partners to walk alongside pastors as they face many challenges and celebrate Your triumphs in their congregations – may these fellow believers speak Your truth into their lives to keep them grounded and encouraged in You. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We humbly call all believers to stand in the gap for those in the eye of Hurricane Milton.

We speak to the winds and we declare: peace be still! We command this hurricane to be downgraded to a tropical rain in Jesus name.

Let's pray for protection, strength, and peace during this time. May they find safety and comfort in the midst of the storm, and may their homes and lives be shielded from harm.

Today's a very important day in the history of our great nation. Whether it's to re- debate yesterday's debate or to reflect on the horrors of this day 23 years ago.

I want to implore all believers to use this time to pray over our great nation that never again will we be plunged into such darkness again.

Let's pray for all this who lost loved ones in 9/11 - that God will continue to comfort them at this time and always.

We remain one nation under God!

God bless and keep the United States of America- One nation under God.

As the weather gets cooler and we're all returning back from vacation, it's time to start getting ready to send our kids back to school.

While to check the school supply lists and all we need to get them ready for 2024-2025 school year, as believers can we begin to gear up spiritually as well? Here are sample prayer points to get us started

1. We take authority over this 2024-2025 school year: there shall not be any form of violence in our schools.

2. Let's declare divine safety for our children on the highways and byways - they will not be any accident it incidents in Jesus name.

3. Let's ask that God will raise godly voices in the school system this year.

4. Let's declare that God will grant our children divine understanding and grant them an excellent spirit.

5. Let's pray that they will enjoy God's peace and for their sound mind.

6. Let's pray that the hand of the Lord will be upon their teachers and administrators. Let's pray for grace to be God's ambassadors in the lives of these children.

7. Let's cover all our schools with the blood of Jesus; declare there will be no plague whatsoever.

In Jesus name we have prayed.

Kindly feel free to share, shalom!

Praying Collosians over our schools

It is astonishing to me that as we turn our calendars to August some of you live in districts where the new school year has already begun. School begins in my district this week, while others still have a few precious days or weeks to soak in this summertime schedule before the school bell and early morning alarm clocks ring.

While we are always praying for every person and part of Education in our nation, August is the month we shine a spotlight on praying into this significant sphere of influence that touches the present and future of everyone in America. For those who learn, teach, or work in schools the close connection is obvious. If you own a home or business, the value of these is greatly impacted by the success and safety of the nearby schools as families decide where to live, work, shop, and raise their children.

The future of your community and country will be steered and stewarded by the students learning and living near you as well. The pastors, politicians, bankers and business leaders, decision-makers, employees, taxpayers, consumers, artist, authors, accountants, healthcare providers, and EVERY aspect of life in the future will be led and impacted by those being instructed, informed, and inspired on campuses today and so it is vital that we pray. If we stay silent darkness quickly dims the hallways and hearts on campus, but if we, “Lift Up the Word,” we light up learning from district-to-district and coast-to-coast!
