During June, as part of our Resurrection at Pride campaign, we are sharing a series called Letters to the Church.
This is the second installment, featuring reflections from parents and loved ones of LGBTQ+ people in our community.
We believe resurrection includes telling the truth about what has been experienced and creating space for what has been held inside to be spoken and heard. It also makes room for hope, even when that hope feels complicated.
As you read, we invite you to listen with openness. You may recognize parts of your own story, or better understand someone else’s. Our hope is that this series helps people feel less alone in what they have carried.
Each week we are highlighting different voices from our community. This week is parents and loved ones, following LGBTQ+ voices last week. Stay tuned for pastors, allies, and volunteers next.
If you have something you have always wanted to say to the church, we would love for you to share it in the comments.
