Good Friday - Love Paid the Price!
Love Covers All
In a serene setting, a family of three—a couple and their son—set sail on a beautiful day, unaware of the storm that awaited them. As they ventured further into the sea, dark clouds gathered, and suddenly, a raging ocean unleashed its fury. Tidal waves crashed over the boat, turning it upside down and leaving the family in despair. They found themselves struggling amidst the chaos, feeling hopeless and lost.
On the distant shore, a man observed their plight. Recognizing their desperate situation, he dove into the turbulent waters. With unwavering determination, he swam to the son first, bringing him safely to the island. Without hesitation, he returned to rescue the mother, guiding her to safety. Finally, he turned back for the father. But as he approached the father, exhaustion took hold; the man had become overwhelmed by the waves and his own fatigue. Despite his best efforts, he struggled to reach the last member of the family.
This scenario reflects the profound importance of love and grace—qualities that resonate deeply within the heart of God. Just as the man risked his life to save the family, God’s love for us is unwavering and sacrificial. No matter the struggles we face, no difficulty or sin is greater than the love of God. He died so we may live; He died so we could discover and fulfill our divine purpose. His sacrifice was made to save us and to offer us the hope of salvation.
Isaiah 53:4 reminds us:
"Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted."
1 Thessalonians 5:10 states:
"Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him."
On this Good Friday, we bow in reverence at what was accomplished for us at Calvary. The Blood of Jesus, the most precious commodity in all of humankind, was poured out without reserve. He who knew no pain chose to carry ours. He who needed no suffering took our burdens upon Himself—willingly, completely, and sacrificially. This is the measure of His love.
Today, we pause, reflect, and remember this Supreme Sacrifice that forever turned our story around.
He chose the cross. He chose YOU!
