Winter Storm Alert: Avoid Driving! Stay Safe at Home!
State officials strongly advise residents to stay off the roads and remain at home during today’s winter storm. Road conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly and remain hazardous for many hours after the snow has stopped. Many roads, bridges, and overpasses will be unsafe, and your cooperation is essential. Please avoid driving in these dangerous conditions.

It is critical to keep roads clear for emergency responders who may need to assist those in urgent situations. If travel is unavoidable, exercise extreme caution and ensure your vehicle is properly equipped for winter conditions.

In case of an emergency, call 911. For updates on roadway closures, use the 511 phone system, visit 511la.org, or download the Louisiana 511 smartphone app.

Your cooperation is vital to ensuring the safety of everyone. Please share this advisory with family, friends, and neighbors.
