Thank you for your faithfulness in following us all these years! As you know, Glenfield UMC has transitioned, becoming the New Albany United Methodist Church / La Misión. As a result, this page will no longer be updated.

Please begin following our new page, UMC New Albany! There, you’ll find all the latest news about the many activities we have going on in our church. In the future, we’ll be broadcasting our Sunday services. For now, you’ll see the occasional informal live stream of our Spanish-language service with Reverend Marta Bolen Sobrino on Sundays at 12:15 p.m.

Friends: some changes are pending as we gently phase out the Glenfield UMC page and merge it with this one.

We are deeply grateful to the members of Glenfield UMC for their history of faithfulness, the gift of their facilities, and their willingness to become a part of UMC New Albany and La Misión. Because of their decades of work and stewardship, we have a wonderful place to call home.

One change you may see: in the future, we plan to broadcast services online. In the short term, you may see informal streams of services held by La Misión in Spanish at 12:15 p.m. on Sundays. These will appear as live broadcasts on our Facebook feed.

Keep an eye out for better things to come! We are growing quickly, and we are eager to keep reaching out to our communities in every way possible.

Given recent tragic events involving teen su***de in our community, we’ve invited Pat Ward, LPC, to lead a workshop on understanding teen issues and helping teens and families cope.

If your teenagers have heard things that concern them, and especially if you'd like to engage with this subject in a safe space, you are welcome to join us for "Stronger Than You Think: Mental Health and Practical Hope" on September 13th at 6:30 p.m.

The first half of the session is for teens and their parents; the second half is for one-on-one sessions with parents who have questions or concerns.

This event is open to our entire community, and will be held at our building at 104 North Glenfield Road.

We have wonderful news to share! New Albany United Methodist Church is now an official congregation of the United Methodist Church!

All requirements to be duly constituted have now been met. We had our convening charge conference this past Sunday evening, with District Superintendent Rev. Dr. Raigan Miskelly presiding.

Those gathered worshiped, prayed, and received inspiration from Dr. Miskelly’s sermon titled “Dare to Dream.” We also received encouraging words from our pastors, Rev. Dr. Dan Darling and Rev. Marta Bolen. Those present officially transferred their membership to NA UMC. Others wishing to join need only contact the District office, or reach out to our pastors.

We're also honored to welcome into our congregation the prior members of the Glenfield United Methodist Church. Their generous offer to make their facilities our own gave us a home when we had none ... and we are proud to count among our number the sweet souls who established and maintained Glenfield UMC for decades.

In addition, we celebrate the opportunity to embrace La Misiòn, the vibrant Latino ministry thriving under the leadership of Rev. Marta Bolen. As partners in God's work, New Albany UMC and La Misiòn will continue to reach out to our community, support some of the most vulnerable among us, and reimagine what a local church can be and achieve.

We are excited about our new beginning ... and we pray God will bless our efforts to be a growing, thriving church where everyone is truly welcome.
