Awaken the Nation is a worship organization that awakens believers to the truth of God starting in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. Awaken puts on worship events throughout the year, encouraging believers to share their testimonies, and Christian song writers to share the stories behind their songs. Awaken also sends out weekly devotional content via email so make sure you are subscribed to receive encouraging messages in your inbox!

Fruit of the Spirit Series, Kindness Week 4

Devotional:
God did the most loving thing for us before we were born. He sent his only son to live and die for us. Since God is all-knowing, even before He sent His Son, He knew how we would sin against Him. In His loving kindness, He sent His son anyway to save us from our sins.

The Lord knows how we have sinned and he still wants to have a relationship with us. 1 John 2:1-2 says “I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.” When you think about a time in your life that you are not proud of, remember that the Lord already knows. He loves you and he wants you to bring your worry to the feet of His Son, Jesus.

Prayer:
My prayer is that you will come to the realization that by turning towards the Lord in times of trouble or regret that you will be met with kindness and not anger or shame. Jesus loves you and cares for you.

We exist to put on nights of worship across the greater Nashville region that wake us up to the truth of the Gospel. No more sleep walking in our faith, but activated by the power of the Holy Spirit to be sent out to see our city saved, healed, and alive in Christ! Something so special about what we are seeing is that believers from numerous churches join in unity. These events gather those who humbly put preferences aside and keep the main thing the main thing - adoration of the King of Kings!

Patience does not always come naturally. In a world that values speed and instant results, waiting can feel frustrating or even impossible. Yet Scripture calls us to patience, not only in circumstances but also with people. To be patient is to trust God’s timing and to extend grace when others fall short.

When we learn to wait with faith, we are reminded that God is patient with us. He does not rush our growth, and He does not give up when we stumble. His steady love is our example. As we lean into His Spirit, patience becomes more than simply “waiting well.” It becomes a reflection of His character within us.

In your moments of delay, or when someone tests your spirit, remember that patience is never wasted. It is an opportunity to practice love, to strengthen faith, and to align yourself with God’s perfect timing.

Prayer
Lord, help me to trust Your timing and to extend patience to others as You have so graciously shown patience to me. Amen.

In today’s world we are accustomed to automation and same delivery. Anything we need to know is readily available through our smart phones. We are surrounded by different stores, medical facilities and repair shops. This leaves little time for us to wait for things that we want!

Do you ever wish that something you prayed for would come to fruition as quickly as your Amazon Prime packages are delivered? I know I do. No matter what you are praying for: community, a new business opportunity, a spouse, or circumstances to change- the Lord hears you and he loves you.

Romans 8:25 says “But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” The Lord is with us in our waiting. He hears our cries and knows the desires of our hearts. In the waiting, through faith, we can have confidence that he will provide for us. His provision may not look how we thought it would, but a perfect God will not let us down. My hope is that while you wait for answered prayers, you can draw near to God and feel the peace that His nearness provides in the midst of your uncertainty.

At The Well, shared about how Jesus's mission was to save, set free, and send out. It's not uncommon for worship nights to gather people who are already saved, but it's important to also be set free! We are praying you remember your authority in Christ is for such a time as this, and that you are empowered and sent out by the strength of the Holy Spirit for the work of ministry exactly where you are planted.
