We can still be the church even though we're not meeting in person today. Let's take this opportunity to pray with and for each other!
Here are a few prompts to help you pray today:
1. Start by thanking God. Let Him know how much you love Him and how grateful you are for His great love for you. His steadfast love never ceases and His mercies never come to an end. He is always faithful.
2. For those in need of protection and/or provision. The residents of southern California affected by the fires, all those still recovering from last year's hurricane devastation, and even those experiencing homelessness in our own community could all use prayer. This would also be a good time to ask God to show you if there are other ways you can help as well.
3. For first responders and emergency care. Fire fighters, police officers, EMTs, disaster response teams, doctors, nurses, and even 911 operators all play a vital role in rescue, recovery, care, and keeping our communities safe and healthy. Pray for their safety and strength as they serve and protect in so many ways.
4. For our local, state, and national government leaders. We're about to have a new president. Senators, congressmen, governors, mayors, aldermen, council members, and more all need wisdom to lead and govern in ways that honor God and serve the citizens well.
5. For our pastors and ministry leaders. Whether they are praying, preaching, teaching, serving, or making decisions about the future or finances of our church, these men and women need prayer for strength, wisdom, and guidance. They are often on the front lines of spiritual warfare and attacks as well, so pray for protection for them and their families too.
6. For the church. We are the church, and it's important to lift one another up often and with sincere hearts. Pray for unity in the church and for God's people to be in one accord as we work together toward His vision and mission for us. Scripture tells us that the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.
7. For each other. Leave your prayer requests in the comments so we can pray specifically for one another as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Philippians 4:6 NLT
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
