Helping People Take Their Next Step With God!

09/04/2026

We are finishing up Malachi this week and we are looking at the Future, the Past, and the Present. Everything that we have talked about in the first three chapters of Malachi are bringing us to this moment-the present.

Friday: Malachi 4:1 There is a day coming when God will judge the world. What will that look like for those that don’t fear His name? Can you give me Biblical examples to back your answer?

Saturday: Malachi 4:2 There are two visuals presented to us in this verse; the sun rising and calves leaping. What does that comparison mean for those who fear God?

Monday: Malachi 4:3 Does it sometimes feel like you are fighting a losing battle? Can you take comfort in knowing that in God’s timing, your enemies, your battles, your fears will all be ashes under your feet?

Tuesday: Malachi 4:4 After telling them of a better future, why is Malachi now telling them to think about the past?

Wednesday: Malachi 4:5 What type of message does Elijah bring? Was John the Baptist the fulfillment of this prophecy or is Elijah yet to come? (See Matthew 11:13-14, John 1:21)

Thursday: Malachi 4:6 How, or why, does the hearts of fathers to children and children to fathers, stop God’s destruction of the land? Is the modern-day church taking this warning seriously? Why or why not?

This week we look at the importance of evangelism (, leading sinners to repentance by spreading the Christian gospel through public preaching or personal witness), in short term mission trips. Our purpose is to glorify God knowing that even the angels in heaven rejoice when a single sinner repents.

Friday August 28th: Jonah 1:1-3 - Why did Jonah not want to warn the Ninevites about God’s judgement (Hint: Jonah 4:1-2)? Is there someone in your life that you dislike so much that you have not shared the gospel with them? If yes, pray for God to give you the opportunity to share with them.

Saturday August 29th: Matthew 28:18-20 - This passage of scripture is often referred to as the great commission. What have you done to fulfil this personally? Jesus didn’t say make converts, he said make disciples. What’s the difference?

Monday August 31th: Acts 1:8, Acts 8:1 - What did Jesus say they would receive from the Holy Spirit? What were they to do with what they received? What were the circumstances that led to them going to all the places Jesus told them go?

Tuesday September 01st: 1 Corinthians 10:31, Psalm 73:25-26, & Romans 11:36 - How is the Westminster Catechism “The chief end of man is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.” supported by these verses?

Wednesday September 02nd: 1 Samuel 30:1-6 - Why were some of David’s loyal men ready to stone him? What was David’s response to this? How did his response bring glory to God?

Thursday September 03rd: Romans 10:14 - What are the steps Paul lists here that leads someone to call on Jesus? Do you remember the name of the person whose “preaching” or “sharing” led you to repent and believe? How will you incorporate sharing the gospel and your testimony as part of your daily activity so you can lead sinners to repentance?

The people have been asking a lot of questions of God. In our text this week, they decide to talk to one another.

Friday: Malachi 3:16 Why is it important that they spoke to one another? (See Proverbs 27:17) How is this different from all of the questions they have asked of God?

Saturday: Hebrews 10:23-25 How are you “stirring up” your fellow saints to “love and good works

Monday: Malachi 3:16 Did the names get written in the book because God “paid attention and heard them”?

Tuesday: Malachi 3:17 Do you see God’s love for you as a father to his child? Explain.

Wednesday: Malachi 3:18 Is it easy to see the difference between the righteous and the wicked?

Thursday: Matthew 7:21-23 What is the difference between one who serves God and one who does not?

This week we continue in the book of Malachi as God addresses Judah’s disobedience that led them to rob Him and speak “hard words” against Him.

Friday August 14th: Malachi 3:6 -What do you understand by the statement “the Lord does not change”? Why was that beneficial to Jacob?

Saturday August 15th: Malachi 3:7 - What did God accuse Israel of doing? What offer did He make? How would you answer their question, “How shall we return?’

Monday August 17th: Malachi 3:8 - God accused them of robbing him. What did they do to rob God? Do you think it’s possible to rob God today in the way they did then? How else could we rob God?

Tuesday August 18th: Malachi 3:9 - What does it mean to be cursed?

Wednesday August 19th: Malachi 3:10-12 - Why was God asking them to put the “full tithe” in the storeroom? Give examples of things that the “devourer” may do to us today when we rob God. What blessings were promised if they did so?

Thursday August 20th: Malachi 3:13-15 - Why did God say their “words have been hard against” Him? What irony is visible in their statement?

Friday: Malachi 2:17 How do we discern good from evil? What is one thing that you believe is evil that the modern day c...

Friday: Malachi 2:17 How do we discern good from evil? What is one thing that you believe is evil that the modern day church (or some segment) seems to not find wrong?

Saturday: Malachi 3:1 Do you find God slow in bringing justice? Are you excited or nervous for the coming of our Lord?

Monday: Malachi 3:2-3 How would you describe your salvation using the analogy of the refiner’s fire?

Tuesday: Malachi 3:4 Why would the offerings be acceptable after the refiner’s fire?

Wednesday: Malachi 3:5 After describing how He will “purify the sons of Levi”, He says “then I will draw near to you.” How might this statement cut to the heart of the listeners?

Thursday: Malachi 3:5 We see a list of those that God will judge and the list ends with those that “do not fear me.” Would you say a proper fear of God would correct the rest of the list? Why or why not?
