I was unaware of one more responsibility this job requires, keeping graves as level as feasibly possible. If a grave sits significantly above others and is done settling, the excess dirt needs to be removed. On the other hand, if a grave has sunken down a bit, dirt will need to be moved in to fill it in. There is a pile of dirt at the back of the cemetery that can be used for filling in. A rough guesstimate would be an average of 10-12 new burials per year.
We won't be accepting anymore bids after this coming Sunday, July 19th so a decision can be made the following week.
We are currently seeking bids for mowing the cemetery. Tasks would include: picking up any trash/debris prior to mowing, mowing the grass inside the cemetery itself and between the fence and the road, weedeating around the fence/headstones, and blowing off any cut grass from the headstones and road inside the cemetery fence.
