Today's unveiling of the Bass Reeves statue in Muskogee USA is a milestone in our city's history. As the first African-American to serve as Mayor of Muskogee I am so proud to see our diverse history celebrated. Bass Reeves is a Muskogee original!

3 1/2 days left in 2024. Have you made amends with everyone you're at odds with or are you going to carry what you cannot control into 2025? You can only control your actions so rather than respond to people with fury and disdain, show them you're the bigger person. Be kind and embrace them and move on. If they want to carry around dirty dishes, let that be on them, but you start off the new year with a clean plate.

During my decade of public service as a City Councilor and Mayor of the City Of Muskogee, I learned the importance of being willing to experience the good, the bad, and the ugly for the greater good of all the people. In times like these we need all the people to promote the greater good for our community. Be strong, be resilient, and most of all be great because Muskogee is too big for small dreams.
