Freedom Within

Some journeys begin with a small suitcase…

Leaving the place where we were born does not mean we forget where we came from.

Sometimes, life calls us to begin a new journey…

READING MY OLD WRITINGS AFTER 6 YEARS…

Today, Facebook reminded me of a post I wrote on June 30, 2020.

I sat in silence for a very long time.

Rereading every line, every punctuation mark, every pause…

Some sentences felt clumsy.

Some thoughts still naïve.

Some things I understand very differently today.

But what moved me the most was not how well or poorly the writing was done.

It was seeing a version of myself from six years ago.

A girl still full of doubts about life.

A girl beginning to feel curious about the spiritual world.

A girl who, for the first time, dared to sit with herself and ask questions she had never dared to consider before.

If I could meet that girl from 2020 again…

I would probably hold her very tightly.

Then smile and say:

“Just keep writing…

Don’t be afraid that your writing isn’t good enough.

Don’t be afraid that others won’t understand.

Don’t be afraid that you know too little.

Because those very first lines will open a very big door in your life.”

Six years have passed.

Life has carried me through many emotional landscapes.

There were days filled with happiness.

And days when I thought I no longer had the strength to continue.

There were losses that made my heart fall silent.

And lessons that could only be learned through tears.

But all of these experiences have taught me one thing…

No one enters the healing journey with all the answers.

We all begin with a question.

And step by step…

life brings us teachers, books, encounters, and even necessary breakdowns to help us grow.

Today, I want to share that very first writing again.

Not because it is perfect.

But because it is the first footprint on the path I am still walking.

I have kept the original spirit of the writing.

Only slightly refined the language for clarity.

Because I want to preserve the sincerity of that girl.

A girl who was beginning to learn how to listen to her soul.

A girl who was learning to write…

and also learning to grow up.

THE FIRST LINES WHEN I BEGAN TO WRITE ABOUT THE SOUL…

There are writings that are not born to prove anything.

They simply capture a moment on one’s journey of becoming.

Perhaps…

every journey begins with a question.

And mine was no different.

I once thought that writing was simply recording thoughts.

But then I realized…

each time I sit before a blank page, I am not only writing words.

I am writing unnamed emotions.

Facing fears I always avoided.

Listening to something very deep within my heart.

There are tears that fall while writing.

Answers that arrive after days of inner questioning.

And wounds that begin to heal… simply because I had the courage to be honest with myself.

If today you are carrying too many things you cannot share with anyone…

try writing.

No need to write well.

No need to write correctly.

Just write truthfully.

And perhaps…

the first person who heals you…

is you.

Have you ever wondered…

If one day we leave this body…

what continues?

Where do we go?

Or does everything simply end?

There was a long period in my life when I believed…

“Death is the end.”

The body disappears.

Consciousness vanishes.

Everything becomes nothingness.

That was what I heard from many people around me.

And I never thought otherwise.

The concepts of soul, reincarnation, or rebirth…

were, to me at that time, only things from Hong Kong martial arts films or mystical stories.

I still remember…

Whenever the main character faced death, they would say:

“Twenty years later, I will return…”

I would just smile.

And think…

It’s only a movie line.

Until one day…

I began to read.

To listen.

To observe.

And most importantly…

to question.

The more I explored, the more I realized…

this world holds many perspectives on life and death.

Some things science is still uncovering.

Some belong to belief.

Some can only be felt through personal experience.

One of the first books that opened a completely new perspective for me was “Destiny of Souls.”

I did not read it to find an absolute truth.

I read it to expand the way I see life.

And then…

I began to wonder:

If the soul truly continues after the body closes…

then is death really an end?

Or is it just a period…

before a new chapter begins?

That is not an answer.

It is a perspective.

But that perspective changed the way I began to live.

I realized…

the important question is no longer where we go after leaving this world.

But rather…

while we are here…

how are we living?

There is a quote by Teilhard de Chardin that I deeply love:

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience.
We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”

When I read this…

I sat in silence for a long time.

If life is seen from this perspective…

then every joy.

Every sorrow.

Every meeting.

Every separation.

Every wound.

Every forgiveness.

Can be a lesson that helps the soul mature.

Perhaps…

we are not here on Earth to become perfect human beings.

But to learn how to love.

How to be grateful.

How to forgive.

How to understand.

And above all…

how to return to ourselves.

That book, “Destiny of Souls,” for me was no longer just a story about reincarnation.

It became a journey to find meaning in life.

To find wisdom through experience.

To find light through falling.

And to learn to live more fully in each present moment.

Six years later…

I no longer read this writing as someone searching for answers.

I read it with gratitude.

Grateful for the girl in 2020 who had the courage to ask the first questions.

Grateful for the teachers who appeared at the right time.

Grateful for the challenges that helped me grow.

Grateful even for the moments I felt lost.

Because without that version of me…

there would be no me today.

The journey is still long.

I am still learning.

Still listening.

Still exploring.

And I believe…

each page we write does not only preserve our own journey.

But may also become a small light…

quietly illuminating the path of someone

who is searching for themselves.
