We have been led by great faithful leaders starting with Elder Rowson to Bishop Norman and now to our current Pastor Bishop Ramsey. In 1962 a group of forward thinking, spiritually inclined saints began thinking of the possibility of organizing themselves into a church body after worshipping in several places, sharing places with other churches. They searched for a permanent place to call home. Am

ong them were Pastor Isaac Rowson, Mother Eva Norman, Mother Hattie Davenport, Mother Marie Sadler, Mother Eartha Taylor, Sister Elsie Hall, Brother Henry Rowson, and Deacon William Davenport. Through divine intervention, the Lord led Pastor Rowson to the property at our present location, occupied by a two family house with a garage. With donations from these pioneering saints and others, the property was purchased. Praying mothers, such as Mother Eva Norman, Mother Hattie Davenport, Mother Marie Sadler, Mother Wealthavee Norman, and others kept in touch with God, along with the deacons, Deacon William Davenport, Deacon Henry Rowson, Deacon Henry Anderson, and Deacon Fairest Norman. We were able to triumphantly move into our new church, named the First Pentecostal Church of Christ of the Apologetic Faith, Inc. Over the years, through the preaching of sound doctrine, teaching, and praying under the tutelage of Elder Isaac Rowson, many deacons became ministers, elders then bishops. Among them the late Bishop Luke Jones and the late Bishop Henry Anderson. They went on to start their own great ministries for the Lord. After pastoring over 12 years, Elder Isaac Rowson retired to North Carolina, Bishop Fairest Norman, then Elder Fairest Norman, was appointed pastor of First Pentecostal Church on November 17, 1974. He was consecrated to the office of Bishop on May 14, 2005. Over those 46 years, a sacred trust development between Bishop Norman and the congregation. Our experience with the Lord and Savior and his plan for us has been distinctive. Our foundation was established in holiness and satisfaction, that is being set apart for the boundaries work the Lord has prepared for us. Our experience with our Lord and Savior and His plan for us has been distinctive. Our foundation was established in holiness and satisfaction, that is being set apart for the boundless work the Lord has prepared for us. While most of the charter members of First Pentecostal Church are no longer living, we are glad to say, some who were with us from our humble beginnings are still working for the Lord today. The Apostolic doctrine will never change! We are not babies in Christ-we are growing and developing rich in the Spirit and God is still adding "His number that no man can number.' Let us be exceedingly glad and rejoice in what the Lord has done. The Lord is preparing us to do a mighty and glorious work for him as we move forward. We continue to work the glory and honor of God, so that His kingdom will come and his Divine, will be done. We have come this far by faith, and we have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. For over 60 years, the Lord has given us sound doctrine, wisdom, power and love.
