❄️NO WEDNESDAY NIGHT SERVICE TOMORROW❄️
I hope that everyone who was struggling with downed power lines has had their service restored and is staying warm. This ice storm was much more intense than the kids and I anticipated when we discussed the possibility of 10 inches of snow last week! The sun is working hard to battle the cold and melt the ice, but unfortunately, our church parking lot remains too dangerous for us to hold service tomorrow night. Therefore, all services are canceled for tomorrow, 1/28.
What is your "snow personality"? Are you one who soaks it up and reads a book by the fire? Do you find everything that hasn’t been dusted in the last year, and clean everything down to the toothpicks? Are you one who completely goes stir crazy, longing for the moment things can get back to normal? Regardless of what you may be feeling, I challenge you to find ways to worship in the waiting. God brings seasons that call us out of our normal and that allow us to recenter everything on Him. I got to thinking today about how much extra time I have gotten to spend in His word this year, and how it has been such a joyous season for my family. So many times in my life, it was easier to be connected with Jesus when life was tough. It’s almost like the more complicated life is, the more it compels us to be with Him. But what if, this year, we stay connected to Him so profoundly that it is our everyday posture to give Him praise without having an agenda to do so? I challenge you today to take a moment with your kids to study the last chapter in Psalms. What does it look like for your family to praise in the joyous seasons? Have the kids write a thank-you letter to God for the works He is doing in their lives and in the lives of others around them, through them. Encourage them to put it somewhere that they see often as a reminder of His goodness.
"Hallelujah! Praise God in his sanctuary. Praise him in his mighty expanse. Praise him for powerful acts; praise him for his abundant greatness. Praise him with the blast of a ram’s horn; praise him with a harp and lyre. Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and flute. Praise him with resounding cymbals; praise him with clashing symbols. Let everything that breathes praise the Lord. Hallelujah!" -Psalm 150:1-6

"You hear the melody of all creation, but there’s a song of praise that only I can bring".
It is my prayer that your family finds moments of worship in the waiting, and we will all be able to gather together safely on Sunday. Please be sure to check your emails and our page for updates. I’m attaching a picture for the kids of our new ice skating rink! 😉
