ARCHERY TAG!

Trail Life USA Troop IN 0364 Evansville, IN, and Trail Life Troop Ky5812, Hopkinsville, KY joined our Troop this Saturday at Mortons Gap Christian Church for a fun filled morning of Archery Tag. The morning began with prayer and boy lead devotion followed by safety and game play instruction presented by Woody Youngs.

Trial Life USA works to build boys into Godly men in a time when our culture needs them most. Trail Life recognizes that boys thrive when they are challenged to compete. Team competition is just one of the many tools employed to teach boys to lead successful lives.

Our Mission is to guide generations of courageous young men to honor God, lead with integrity, serve others, and experience outdoor adventure.

HIT THE TRAIL!
GONE FISHIN'

This past Saturday the troop Hit the Trail on an awesome fishing excursion! Property owner William Sneed invited the boys to spend the day fishing at his private lake. The troop had a great time catching LOTS of fish. If your son would like to join the adventure message us here on Facebook!

HIT THE TRAIL!

Saturday April 26th the Troop Hit the Trail to Hopkins County Madisonville Public Library (HCMPL). Trailmen learned about the many services and resources provided by HCMPL, guided by Circulation Manager Shanna Turner. The library provided a meeting space, refreshments and other resources.

Trailmen continued work on their "Life Skills Branch" pins, (core step 3. Map Skills).

Troop Chaplin DJ Bryant delivered the devotion focusing on Bible land maps.
The troop engaged in discussion about maps: why we need them, how to use them, and even made their maps of their homes.

The Trailmen played map related games, including a ticket hunt in the library using a map of the building made just for them. They also played "Find that Kentucky Town" on a giant map of Kentucky. Prizes were provided by the library.

The meeting concluded with a presentation by Troop-master Nathan Toon on interesting Kentucky history and unusual Kentucky facts.

The Troop wishes to thank HCMPL for hosting this event with a special thank you to Shanna Turner for her gift of backpacks and headlamps to all the Trailmen!

At Last Night’s Trail Life Meeting:

Last night was a special night for the Trailmen of Troop KY-4578. Woodland Trail Trailmen were awarded their Joining Award Patches and Hobbies Trail Branch Pins. Our Navigator Trailman was awarded his Ready Trailman Patch.

In addition the Troop resumed work on the Outdoor Skills Branch with a learning session covering Edge Tools (which included safety, use, and proper tool selection), and continued working on knot tying skills.

Congratulations are also in order for the winners of the birdhouse decorating contest. Everyone worked hard on their entries. Winners were chosen by members of two different church congregations. Great job Trailman! The entries were all wonderful and the voting was TIGHT!

At Last Night’s Trail Life Meeting:

Troop meetings are held weekly on Monday’s at Mortons Gap Christian Church with members staying informed of any schedule changes via Traillifeconnect.com.

Last night’s meeting was very special for the Troop. Trailman First Officer, Israel Toon, lead the meeting devotional. Israel demonstrated and practiced leadership and discipleship in his address to the troop. We are very proud of the example he set to the rest of the boys. This is the heart of what Trail Life USA is all about.

The boys began work on the Hobbies Branch. This is to teach boys of the important role hobbies play in growth and development. Scripture references for this branch include: 1 Corinthians 10:31, Ecclesiastes 9:10, Ecclesiastes 2:24-26, Ecclesiastes 3:1

Adult leaders brought examples of hobbies they enjoy, to share with the troop and encouraged discussion about hobbies the boys already engage in or might like to explore, ranging from hunting, to collecting and art.
