“He must increase, but I must decrease.” — John 3:30

John the Baptist reminds us that true humility means not only giving Christ the glory, but also rejoicing when He receives it. May that increasingly be the desire of our hearts: that Christ would be greater in our eyes, our affections, our homes, our church, and our lives.

Jesus says, “This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light.”

Why does the human heart run from the Light? And what changes when the grace of God brings a sinner out of darkness and into the Light of Christ?

Few verses are more familiar than John 3:16, but familiarity can sometimes dull our wonder. This Sunday we will slow down and consider again the astonishing love of God, the Son He gave to save sinners, and the eternal dividing line between belief and unbelief.

“You Must Be Born Again”
John 3:1–15

Nicodemus had religion, knowledge, morality, and respectability, but Jesus told him plainly, “You must be born again.” This passage confronts us with our need for the sovereign work of the Spirit and points us to the Son of Man who was lifted up so that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life.

Come worship with us, hear God’s Word, and stay afterward for fellowship together.
