What if the relationships in your life are revealing something about your heart?

It’s easy to read the story of Saul, Jonathan, and David and start thinking about who around us looks like Saul or who has been our Jonathan. But as I studied their relationships, I found myself asking a much harder question:

Who am I becoming in the relationships God has given me?

In this new episode of Scripture Adventures, we’re walking through 1 Samuel and looking at what these three men teach us about the way our relationship with Yahweh shapes the way we relate to one another.

And just for a little added fun, my sweet Minnie Pearl makes an unexpected guest appearance during the recording. Apparently she had a few thoughts of her own!

What if God has already told you to move...but you're still waiting because you'd really like to see the rest of the staircase first?

Yeah. Me too.

My reading through 1 Samuel 13–14 this week hit a little differently in the season I'm walking through. Saul grasped for control. Jonathan moved forward with a “perhaps”—not because he knew what God would do, but because he knew who God was.

This one is personal. It's about control, obedience, white-knuckling what God has asked us to release, and learning to take the next step without having the entire blueprint.

I started with a simple question: Did Jesus actually tell us to go to church?

What I found wasn't an argument against gathering with the Church—Scripture is clear that we should.

But studying the words Christian, disciple, and church took me somewhere deeper: What is supposed to happen when we gather…and what did Jesus tell His disciples to do when they leave?

“Do it afraid.”

We’ve heard it. We’ve said it. We’ve probably even encouraged ourselves with it.

And while the intention behind the phrase is good, what if Scripture gives followers of Jesus something better?

In this episode of Scripture Adventures, we're walking through the stories of people like Moses, Joshua, Gideon, Esther, Peter, and Ananias—people who were unsure, afraid, skeptical, or felt completely unqualified for what God was asking them to do.

Their fear was real. But fear wasn’t where God called them to operate from. When we get to Hebrews 11, Scripture gives us the words over and over again: by faith.

So maybe the encouragement we need isn't simply, “Do it afraid.” Maybe it's time we learn to "Do it in faith."

This is one of my greatest joys.

Sitting around a table with open Bibles. Teaching Scripture, studying it together, asking questions, or simply having conversations about God and Jesus in the middle of everyday life. I genuinely cannot explain the joy it brings me to walk through the Word of God with other people.

And lately, I think I’m understanding that joy in a deeper way.

For a while, fear made me hesitant to fully walk into what I knew God was calling me to do. But as I’ve begun saying yes—actually stepping into it instead of simply knowing I’m called to it—I’ve discovered how much joy was waiting on the other side of that fear.

Because this is what I love. I love sitting across the table from someone who wants to know God more deeply. I love helping someone realize they can understand the Bible. I love the questions, the conversations, and those moments when something in Scripture finally clicks.

And I especially have a heart for the woman who wants to know God’s Word but doesn’t know where to begin. Maybe you’ve never been part of a Bible study. Maybe you feel like everyone else knows more than you do, or walking into a church Bible study feels intimidating. Maybe you simply want someone to sit beside you and help you learn how to open your Bible, understand what you’re reading, and begin living it out in your everyday life.

There is room at the table for you.

I’ll be hosting more Bible studies through Stacy Tassin Ministries soon, but I’m also available to meet one-on-one. And listen, if you want to talk about Jesus over coffee or tacos—I’m your girl. I’ve probably already said yes in my heart.

You don’t have to already know what you’re doing. You just have to be willing to open the Word and begin.

It would genuinely be one of my greatest joys to walk alongside you.
