Heavenly Father,

As we prepare for Easter, help us to be mindful that this church holiday is more than a celebration of spring’s arrival, as the secular world might think. It is a time for Christians around the world to commemorate Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection from the dead, which is the foundation of the Gospel message.

We ask You to provide us with opportunities to share the Good News with our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Please empower us with Your Holy Spirit, so we can effectively and boldly “tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power and the wonders He has done” (Psalm 78:4). Let us proclaim that Christ was not only crucified; He is risen!

We pray this in Christ’s Name.
Amen.

PRAYER TO THE POTTER

LORD Jesus,

You are the Potter, and we are the clay (Jeremiah 18). We believe You are sovereign and therefore know what’s best for us. Please forgive us for the many times we have complained about the shaping process required for us to become the individuals You created us to be. Thank You for forgiving us and restoring us to a right relationship with You.

We humbly pray that our children and grandchildren understand that You are the Potter, and they are the clay. May they submit their wills and lives to You without rebellion, grumbling, or complaint, even when the shaping process stretches them, becomes difficult for them, or causes them pain. Let them trust You with humble and grateful hearts, recognizing that they are Your “workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).

In Your precious name, we pray.
Amen.
