After his Camino, Wayne is spending a couple of days in Fátima, where in 1917 three shepherd children saw Mother Mary appear to them. This gold mosaic (and striking crucifix) shows Mary presenting the children to the Lamb of of God (Jesus). Instead of being front & center herself, Mary is a mothering guide, directing us toward her Child, the Compassionate, Suffering Savior. [short video in comments]

They’ve completed their pilgrimage and are safe and sound. God is good! And… over 2,000 people in the cathedral by their estimate, plus gorgeous music AND the biggest thurible (incense sw***er for the uninitiated!) in the world!!!

Only two more days’ pilgrimage until the arrival at the Cathedral of Santiago… the final day (Sunday) will be a 15 miler! (Photo here includes the one Wayne sent me after a 34,000 step day) He reports that some days they arrive hot and tired at the designated end point only to discover their B&B is another two miles up the road!

CAMINO DAY 5 - Wayne reports, "Very, very tired. I was huffing and puffing today ! Challenging uphill climb on a rocky and uneven path ( if you could even call it that). The temperatures are rising, so we need to leave much earlier in the morning to avoid overheating.
Today also we heard church services on Pentecost Sunday as we walked by! They have them on outdoor speakers and can hear them from miles away! " (Listen for the huffing and puffing AND the music on the video)

Not a whole lot of running going on but Day 4 of the Camino with no blisters is an accomplishment!
