Praying for our siblings at Christ Church and for all of our neighbors experiencing the impacts of floods.
For now, everything is fine at the AuSable Inclusion Center and we continue to monitor the situation. We will communicate via our social media and email if things change. In the meantime, we can anticipate that Hygiene Closet needs will be increased over the next couple of months as our low income neighbors deal with property damage. Product donations can be mailed directly to us via our Amazon wishlist here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1O1MPIS3D5X40
At this time, we encourage financial donations to be directed to the Community Foundation of Northeast Michigan, which frequently distributes urgent needs grants to local nonprofits after natural disasters in our area.

People across our state are in the paths of floodwaters. At the dam in Cheboygan, the water is inches from spillover and is swiftly rising. Residents are preparing to evacuate. Our siblings at St. James Episcopal Church of Cheboygan are taking steps to move irreplaceable items, records, and electronics out of the path of the imminent flood. More rain and snowmelt are expected this week and flooding in Mio and other areas is already causing damage.
Pray with us for those in the path of rising water, for first responders and emergency workers, for those making difficult decisions about whether to stay or go, and for the long road of recovery that may follow.
Pay attention to this page and watch for email updates from the diocese. If circumstances change and we need to mobilize support, we’ll share that info with you right away.
🙏 Almighty God, our refuge and strength: we lift up to you the people of Cheboygan and all communities across our diocese threatened by rising water. Protect those in harm's way. Strengthen the hands of first responders and all who labor to mitigate floods. Grant wisdom to those who must decide when to stay and when to go. And when the waters recede, be with us still in the work of repair, in the ministry of presence, and in the long patience of recovery. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our peace amid the storms. Amen.
