The Rebild National Park Society is a Danish-American friendship organization formed for the purpose of celebrating America’s Fourth of July Independence Day at the Rebild National Memorial Park in Denmark and to promote the friendship between the United States and Denmark. The Upper Midwest Chapter of the Rebild National Park Society serves members in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South

Dakota. Rebild National Memorial Park, originally 200 acres of hilly, heather covered land, was purchased in 1911 with funds raised by Danish Americans under the leadership of Max Henius from Chicago. Henius presented the deed of the land to His Majesty King Christian X as a permanent memorial to Danish Americans.
