Statement from Alhikma Islamic Center

October 8, 2025 – Minneapolis, MN
This evening, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara visited Alhikma Islamic Center following the recent attacks on our mosque — the attempted arson on September 29, 2025, and the subsequent incident on October 7, 2025.
We had a productive and meaningful discussion regarding the safety and security of our community and place of worship. Chief O’Hara informed us that the individual responsible for maybe both incidents has been apprehended, and that the investigation remains ongoing.
We believe these attacks were motivated by hate, and Chief O’Hara assured us that the suspect will be charged accordingly for the crimes committed.
Alhikma Islamic Center appreciates the continued support and partnership with the Minneapolis Police Department and all who stand with us in rejecting hate and protecting our shared community.

Statement of Gratitude
We want to share with our community that an individual has been arrested in connection with the recent attacks on our Mosque — the fire on September 29, 2025, and the attempted arson on October 7, 2025. While the investigation is ongoing, authorities believe this may be the same person responsible for both incidents.
We are deeply grateful to our worshipers who played a critical role in helping with the arrest. Your courage and vigilance made a difference.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to CAIR-MN, and IANA who have been with us since day one,and standing with us during these difficult times.
In addition, we want to sincerely thank our Safety,department ,community, friends, and neighbors, and, along with everyone who stood up with us and showed solidarity. Your support has strengthened us and reminded us that we are not alone.
Together, with faith and the support of our community, we remain strong and united.

We are heartbroken to share that there has been another attempt to burn down our mosque. This act of hate will not break our spirit. Our community stands strong in faith, unity, and resilience. Hate has no place here.
