Father’s Day Blessing

A prayer for Father’s Day:

Lord God, Heavenly Father,
Creator of the human race,
You sent Your Son Jesus
to redeem and to save us.

You sent Him to be born into a family like ours.
You gave Him the Virgin Mary as His mother
and Saint Joseph as His foster father.

We pray for these fathers,
that, following the example of Saint Joseph,
the guardian of the Redeemer,
they may love their children and grandchildren,
and care for and protect them.

May they know how to love You,
our Father in Heaven,
and serve You in all things by fulfilling Your will
as just and upright men—
just as Saint Joseph was and lived.

And may they teach faith and hope in You
to their sons and daughters,
both through their words
and through the example of a virtuous life.

And, after many years of health and happiness,
may they come to rest in Your peace and glory forever.

Amen
